Boolsrules Posted June 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2009 My daughter (6) and son (11) want to do the stingray encounter when we go to HMC-problem is, neither my husband or I want to do it. Can we just go along with them, but not do the encounter or we still have to pay? Is it worth it?
LynneL Posted July 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2009 I'm not really sure since I didn't do this, my son & his girlfriend did, but since no one has replied I'll give you my best guess from how he described it to me & compared it to Grand Cayman stingray encounter.... From how it was described to me, there is a dock with steps that those participating use to go into the water with the stingrays. The rays are in a roped/netted in area that keeps them contained to the encounter area. This is different from Stingray City in Grand Cayman, where you would have to take a boat to the area & they are in the wild. So, concluding from what he said, I'd think you could see those participating without actually being in the water. If you are questioning whether the cruise line would charge you just to stand there, I'd think that would be pretty cheap of them to do that but then again...... Hope this helps a little until someone who went & watched without doing it can answer.
