Rare vino100 Posted July 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2009 I just booked a ss guarantee cabin on the Westerdam sailing Sept. 6th. I have never booked a guarantee cabin before and was hoping to hear anyone's thoughts about an ss guarantee.
PandCAV Posted July 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2009 Vino Sounds good to me. We were on Noordam last year - booked SZ guarantree and were assigned a midhips SY - very nice. With an SS g'tee keep your fingers crossed for upgrade to full blown suite SC with all the Neptune Lounge perks. Don't be disappointed if you don't - your stateroom is wonderful anyway. Good cruising Peter
PCruzer Posted July 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2009 We were on the Oosterdam in Feb/Mar and booked an SS guarantee. We did not end up with an upgrade to a full suite, but we felt that the cabin assigned to us was in a great location - right in the center mid-ships. We found out our cabin # about 10 days out. dandro Posted July 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 1, 2009 SS are very good rooms. You will be on the deck below the Lido Restaurant & Lido Pool, but I have heard that you don't hear much noise from those. We were in an SY on the Westie, and loved it. Good luck and enjoy your cruise! :-)
Rare vino100 Posted July 1, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted July 1, 2009 I appreciate the answers about a guarantee room. I usually like to know my cabin # when I book , but I decided to go out of the box and live on the edge! Well not too much anyway. Are there any SS rooms that aren't good? I usually cruise Celebrity or Princess but am looking forward to cruising with HAL.Hopefully I made the right choice.
