Camp Canival - need feedback

Recommended Posts

I am cruising in April with my children. My son will have just turned 11 and my daughter will be 16. We have cruised in the past on RCCI and my son loved their kid's program - could barely tear him away. Looking at pictures of Camp Carnival it looks like they have a rather small space for this age. Can anyone give me feedback on your experience with Camp Carnival with a same aged child and some examples of activites your kids especially enjoyed.

Thanks,

Paula

We took our 11 year old twin boys a couple of years ago - they loved camp carnival. We really did not plan on them attending too much, but after we registered them and they got the kids capers, they picked out an activity - they never wanted to leave after that! For some of the activities for their age group, they actually had them in a lounge instead of the camp carnival area. We cruised in Sept, so not as large a group of kids as I would expect you to have in April. They enjoyed the sports activities (so those are either on the court or at the pool), the scavenger hunts, pizza & ice-cream pig-outs, dance activities, etc. I can't think of one activity that was offered that they didn't enjoy, and if memory serves me more than half of them are held somewhere outside of the camp carnival area.

The 9-11 group is rarely in the Camp Carnival room, mostly just in the evenings after 10pm. They use several of the lounges and the disco throughout the cruise, plus they go to the arcade and to make pizzas on occassion.

Paula,

Check over at the Family cruising boards. Lots of info there.
