Suziez Posted July 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2009 Has anyone ever taken the Haunted Train, Fort & Lantern tour? It sounds like fun for my family of 4, but want to know if it's worth the hefty price. Anyone know anything??? Thanks!
SailBadtheSinner Posted July 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2009 Do you have more details of this tour? I do know that some forts have no entry fee; the one I liked the best was Fort St Catherine which does have an entry fee. SBtS

Maple Sugar Posted July 10, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 10, 2009 I'm a little confused regarding the haunted train tour..there are no trains in Bermuda let alone a haunted one.
njhorseman Posted July 10, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 10, 2009 I'm a little confused regarding the haunted train tour..there are no trains in Bermuda let alone a haunted one. But there was a railway that operated between 1931 and 1948. Bermuda maintains the right of way as a biking and walking trail. Perhaps it has something to do with that trail. http://www.bermuda-online.org/railway.htm
iheartbda Posted July 10, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2009 I think this is probably what they're referring to when they talk about a train.;) I've seen a "train" like this in St. George but with just 2 cars. Also, they are most likely referring to a tour of haunted places and don't mean the train is haunted.
Suziez Posted July 10, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted July 10, 2009 NCL Shore Excursions, Tour Code: SGE_42 Haunted Train, Fort & Lantern Approximate Duration: 1 1/4 hours Board your trolley train as it makes its way through dark alleys and past old cemeteries to the isolated Fort St. Catherine. Your guide will await your arrival with lanters in hand to take you on tour of one of the oldest stone buildings in Bermuda. As you search for signs of "George", the resident ghost, hear tales of his unusual visits during this fascinating walk through the dark hallways and stairwells of the fort. This is an exiting experience of the supernatural; you may even catch a glimpse of "George"! www:ncl.com/shorex
Suziez Posted July 30, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted July 30, 2009 Back from NCL Majesty to Bermuda. We did the shore excursion, Haunted Train Lantern Tour. There were no lanterns involved! It was a short trolly ride to Fort St. Catharine's. (which closes at 4pm, so it was a private tour) We toured the fort and then they took us downstairs and turned the lights off! No wonder the age listed is 12+! Seeing the fort was good, being scared with the lights off and paying >$130 for 4 wasn't worth it! Suggest touring the fort on your own! lyndyb Posted August 1, 2009 #10 Share Posted August 1, 2009 Sorry the excursion turned out not to be worth the $$ - and thanks for posting and letting us know, Suziez! Without your advice, I may have booked this myself and I wouldn't enjoy having the lights turned out either!!
