Aplmac Posted July 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I was told that you are only allowed 2 bags and 50 lbs. each -is this true? Those figures sound like typical Airline regimentation -not cruise line stuff. .
dan40 Posted July 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Carnival has baggage "RECOMMENDATIONS." But not baggage RESTRICTIONS, OTHER THAN PROHIBITED CONTENT.

cb at sea Posted July 13, 2009 #8 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Most ships allow 200lbs per person....if you're driving to port, go for it! It's the AIRLINES that severly restrict your packing!
BlueJacketsFan1 Posted July 13, 2009 #9 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I have never seen anything about luggage restrictions on the ship, airlines yes. I remember on our first cruise the CD made an announcement that a couple had bought on 31 pieces of luggage for the two of them. We would keep an eye out for the people that we thought it would be, and we both thought it was the same couple.
Frick_&_Frack Posted July 13, 2009 #10 Share Posted July 13, 2009 From the Carnival website: Do you have luggage restrictions?Guests are encouraged to limit their checked luggage to two suitcases per person, with each suitcase not to weigh more than 50 pounds and not exceed 16"h x 24"w x 30"length. Please attach your Carnival Cruise Lines luggage tags PRIOR to leaving home and make sure that they are still on your bags when checking in with us. In many ports, guests have the option of carrying luggage on board at embarkation and off the ship at the end of the cruise as long as it does not exceed 24"w x 16"h. This is an advantage you may want to consider as it will allow for quicker easier access to your bags. If they change this from "encourage" to "require" - I'm a dead woman (though, I do try to limit the bags going "on" - it's the "off-load" that can be worse!!!)! :p  :D
n2knight Posted July 13, 2009 #11 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Restrictions ...No but they do encourage the following: "Guests are encouraged to limit their checked luggage to two suitcases per person, with each suitcase not to weigh more than 50 pounds and not exceed 16"h x 24"w x 30"length" Full info on link below http://www.carnival.com/CMS/FAQs/Baggage_Information__Embarkation_Debarkation.aspx
