HENKNM Posted July 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2009 Has anyone had any experience with the new downloaded luggage tags? Just got e-docs from t/a. included four printed luggage tags, tobe folded around handle of luggage. Told NCL doesn't issue luggage tags any more. I know it's a small thing but you would think they could do better. henknm
njhorseman Posted July 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2009 We've used the downloaded luggage tags several times and have never had a problem. We reinforce them with some clear packing tape. A few months ago NCL reintroduced "Welcome Aboard" booklets with luggage tags and other information. You should be getting one, unless your TA requested NCL to not issue it. uppitycats Posted July 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2009 We reinforced our downloaded tags with clear packing tape and thought they'd be fine...then about a week before our cruise we got a packet in the mail with "real" tags in them. Go ahead and reinforce yours, just in case, but don't attach them to the luggage until you're ready to leave, in case the others show up!
rrobynec Posted July 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2009 I received a welcome booklet which had luggage tags in it, which was a surprise because last summer I had to print them out myself. I still reinforced them with clear packing tape--they didn't seem all the durable. No problems either way with them though.:D
garycarla Posted July 16, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2009 And, if you show up at the pier without ANY tags, no problem. They will just slap one on the bag for you and write in your room number.

They will just slap one on the bag for you and write in your room number. Thank-You all for your information. The colored coded adhesive tags seemed like a good idea. We've sailed with 5 different cruise lines and they all had the color coded tags. printed tags just seemed like a bad idea. THANKS AGAIN HENKNM
Toyz711 Posted July 16, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2009 the printed tags still say "aft" or "forward"...for the gangway the luggage should get loaded through to get to your cabin. once they get in the correct holding area, on the ship, all's good. wait until a week before the cruise...you may still get the real "tags". even through the colors didn't mean anything, they look nice. WinnieinWA Posted July 17, 2009 #10 Share Posted July 17, 2009 I've only ever gotten the online tags. I used self laminated paper to encase them. They worked great. If you don't get any at all or can't print them out then then garycarla says it all. And, if you show up at the pier without ANY tags, no problem. They will just slap one on the bag for you and write in your room number.
mark39 Posted July 18, 2009 #11 Share Posted July 18, 2009 I just returned from the Spirit today and we upgraded our cabin 2 days before the sailing and I had no trouble getting the luggage tags at the pier. There is a gentlemeen with a clipboard and he will be able to assist you. Just have a pen on you as you need to fill the tags out yourself and we had no problems all of our bags arrived to the room. Have a nice trip.

NJ Johnny Posted July 20, 2009 #14 Share Posted July 20, 2009 After receiving the Welcome Aboard Booklet with luggage tags, our room was upgraded. We just crossed out the incorrect cabin number with black magic marker and entered our new cabin number above. This worked out fine. We did reinforce the tags with clear packing tape, as I thought the tags were also too flimsy without reinforcing.
