Dune buggy question

I am taking the dune buggy excursion with my 11 year old son......do you go fast at any point and do you stop to swim? Bottom line will my 11 year old son be trilled or is it gonna bore him? Thanks for any helpful answers from someone who has done this!

We did this in 2007 with our son who was 8 at the time & a thrill seeker. He enjoyed it but it was nothing like the one's we did in Barbados. It was ok for once but would not do it again there.

You don't really go fast. You all drive in a caravan type fashion, but you bump around and splash through puddles so that makes it interesting. It isn't a wild ride, but not boring either. You stop twice. Once to climb a small hill to see a nice view and once to see the view at the lighthouse (bathrooms available). No swimming, but you do get splashed with dirty water during the ride.

I think you should have fun. There was a young boy & his dad on our tour.

Did anyone do excursions not affiliated with the cruise ship?

I inquired about this and the company told me after the cruise ship passengers were done then they might be able to accomodate me.

It was almost like it was for the cruise people only. Had to do CCL excursion.
