seaprincess2010 Posted July 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 17, 2009 Hi - We're planning a wedding on RCCL's Liberty of the Seas for next year. We were considering doing a pre-cruise onboard wedding in the port of Miami. But no sure if that is such a good idea...would it be too much of a rush? Or is it better to do it at another port while we are all settled in? Would love to hear any past experiences/recommendations from previous brides & grooms...and even experiences from wedding guests. Thanks so much! :p

Thanks so much! :p the main reason I did the embarkation wedding is because I knew that most of my guests would not be sailing... I did not feel rushed at all... yes you have to get up earlier but to be honest with you I barely slept the night before because i was so excited... All my guests were happy that I did it here in the states instead of on an island... so i would suggest finding out if your guests would be able to make it if you choose to an iland wedding.. get a group quote from either RCCL or a travel agent to inform your guests...good luck! seaweavers Posted July 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 27, 2009 This also varies with how much you want to control the wedding. Onboard weddings leave you with very few decisions. An island wedding with a local coordinator allows you to choose the wedding you want. We were married in St. Thomas and it was beautiful. Being the 4th day of the cruise, everyone was relaxed and it felt like the wedding lasted all week. Congrats and good luck.
angela111509 Posted July 28, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 28, 2009 I have not yet had my wedding (it will be in November) but when I originally started looking I thought that I wanted to get married in the Bahamas. Then I realized that I didn't want to spend half of my honeymoon (which the cruise will be) getting ready for my wedding. I was also not too happy about spending time while in port trying to get the marriage certificate. Obviously, that is not an issue for everyone, many people get married at their destination and are very happy! Do some research and decide what is going to work for you!
