Cru1s1ng2009 Posted July 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2009 My boss (lucky woman) is going on a 12 night cruise on the Brilliance of the Seas. Are the formal nights more 'formal' than they are in the US?
kitty9 Posted July 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2009 Not really, but European passengers do tend to dress much more stylish than many Americans. I've found the Europeans do like to dress up for dinner each evening, but not necessarily more formal.
operafan Posted July 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2009 We've done 4 European cruises and they were NOT as formal as in the US. Our RCCL Voyager cruise was even less dressy than our Celebrity cruises in Europe. Very few tuxes or long dresses were seen on any of them but women wore cocktail dresses and most men were in dark suit or sportcoat. One whole table of people on our RCCL cruise showed up in shorts and t-shirts every night, formal or not.......

And I totally understand that they are paying customers but so is everyone else and they managed to follow the rules. Just becuase you pay for something (like taxes for the roads) doesnt give you the right to do what ever you want to (like drunk driving). Shesh! Thanks to both of you for responding!
