Gem Aft Balcony (9674)

Would like to hear some thoughts about taking an aft balcony (versus one on the port or starboard side of the ship).

Is Deck 9 far enough below any noise on the open decks above?

This is a "BA" category cabin - NCL tells me we get a little bit of a priority on dinner reservations - anyone have any experience with that?

I still have time to change.

I was in that exact cabin on the Gem last March...

The aft balcony has the best view (IMHO) and you'll not have to deal with wind issues.

You will not suffer noise from above (or below).

There is no priority given for reservations to those in this category cabin, so I can't imagine why anyone would tell you this.

The only drawback I encountered with this cabin was the loooooooooooooooong walk to get to anything in the forward part of the ship.

You WILL get your exercise.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've stayed in this cabin.

There was a little problem with the soot - nothing to worry about.

It's a nice cabin - very, very quiet.

Great view - especially when pulling out of Malta.
