jbond Posted August 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2009 About halfway through your cruise, you will be left a form in your cabin that will allow you to assign your tips to your cruise account. Last night you will get the vouchers and envelopes.
Sue L Posted August 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2009 About half way through the cruise they will put a form in your room asking if you want them added. If yes, just fill out and drop into the box near the purser's desk. The last night they will have vouchers in your cabin and envelopes to still hand out the tips. You can also have the tips added before the cruise if your choose. Just call whomever you booked through and it will be paid with final payment and if past then you can just put it on a credit card. AndyMandy Posted August 11, 2009 #8 Share Posted August 11, 2009 Just wondering what If you don't pay them? I would never do this but I am wondering! If you have not paid them..people dressed in black will come and find you and make you walk the plank without a life jacket:D. I guess nothing will happen apart from hard working staff not getting their full pay:(.
cruiseagain2 Posted August 11, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted August 11, 2009 If you have them put on your SetSail Card can you adjust the amount or does it have to be the set amount?
Sue L Posted August 11, 2009 #10 Share Posted August 11, 2009 If you have them put on your SetSail Card can you adjust the amount or does it have to be the set amount? the set amount will be added, if you want to add more just put cash in the envelope before you hand them out, if you want to go lower then you would have to do it in cash. pinkmonkey14 Posted August 13, 2009 #13 Share Posted August 13, 2009 We signed up for my time dining and you have to pay the tips in advance. Did we pay for all the tips or just the waiter and assistant waiters one? Do we still pay the cabin guy?

You are always welcome to give more in cash at the end of your cruise, however.

Tucker in Texas Posted August 14, 2009 #19 Share Posted August 14, 2009 You are given vouchers and envelopes in which those receiving the tips hope you will add cash (lol). If you have pre-paid and you don't give them the vouchers for one reason or another (don't go to the dining room the last night would be one), they will still get the tip because it is in the computer. As another poster said, you cannot "adjust" the tips if you put them on your Sea Pass card. When put on your Sea pass card it includes a tip to the head waiter (75 cents a day????) who some people do not feel inclined to tip if he/she has been invisible (or non-responsive to a request/complaint) until it is time to pass out the envelopes. In other words, it is all or none on the Sea pass card--no adjustments. I think the tip on the sea pass also includes tips for butler service in the suites. Concierge tips are recommended (and envelopes provided) but not put on the sea pass. Tucker in Texas
pinkmonkey14 Posted August 14, 2009 #20 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Wait. So because we have my time dining we don't give vouchers to anyone on the lAst night? And for the cabin guy the morning we leave just leave cash in the envelope and leave it in the room?

And for the cabin guy the morning we leave just leave cash in the envelope and leave it in the room? For your stateroom attendant you need to leave your tip before dinner the last night of the cruise. Reason being, they can go ashore the day of arrival and usually are off the ship early as they only get 3-4 hours off. Also, if this is the end of the contract for them, they are also not going to be around the last morning.
relaxandenjoy Posted August 14, 2009 #23 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Just wondering what If you don't pay them? I would never do this but I am wondering! Far more expensive to hire a "taster" and a body guard than to just pay the tips. ;)

You don't "have" to leave cash for the cabin attendant...his tip was included when you pre-paid your tips for My time Dining...you can certainly add to the voucher envelope if you want...but you won't be stiffing him if you don't
