RCCL Explorer - Aft cabins

We are thinking of changing our cabin on the Explorer. We currently have 7274 (an E2 category) and just found out the next category up (D1) is a little cheaper. They are on deck 10 aft - 1688, 1390 and 1392. One is on the corner and looks like it might be bigger, but hard to say. Has anyone stayed in any of these cabins? There is only a difference of 30 sq. ft. and our cabin now is in the middle of the ship. Is it worth changing? They also had a couple others on deck 7 and deck 8 but between midship and aft. Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Take 1688--the room is "squarer" than most, so you have alot of space, and the balcony is very deep....be aware that you won't have a "straight down" view to the water--there is some of the ship that you must look past, but the space will be worth it!

Thanks cb! I did find some photos of 1388 - the corner on the starboard side. It shows a pole in the middle of the cabin. I'm assuming that 1688 would have the same? I'm also wondering if there will be more noise since the Island Grill is directly above on deck 11.

thanks for the replies but after talking to hubby he'd rather stay in the cabin we have now...mid-ship. He's worried about the motion being in an aft cabin. :(

if you hit rough waters it wont matter where you are-- shame because those balconies are worth it.
