Progresso to Cancun

How far is Cancun from Progresso? The Carnival Rep talked like we could get a water taxi to take us there? Anyone ever done this or heard of this?

they aren't very close to eachother. Via the highway that cuts across inland it's about 3.5 to 4 hours driving.

After I posted this I looked on a map.....by land it would take you all do to get there and back.....and I just don't think it is possible to get there by water in the amount of time you are docked.....I don't think the Carnival man knew what he was talking about....or maybe I just misunderstood!!!

I was thinking the same thing, and thought perhaps the Carnival person was confused and was thinking more of Cozumel to Cancun by ferry. that's more common. :)
