Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Holy Hell! Normally I would love 2 extra days! Was this a big screw up on a single cruise or were all these over several cruises?
  2. LOL. I said they would, as in they told us they would. NOT that we had them do it. in fact, other than them bringing daily snacks to the room..and walking us down to shows...we never used them.
  3. I know in the Haven, the butler will bring breakfast, lunch and dinner and do an in room set up, would bring things for a bath./run the bath before we got back from a show, ect.... What are the things you ask for?
  4. What kind of things have went wrong? We have never traveled overseas and plan on staying on land for an additional week, but I would hate to try a new cruise line and have it mess up a trip of a lifetime.
  5. So you would recommend YC even with all of the ports?
  6. We pretty much stick to ourselves when we vacation anyway so language barriers are not that big of an issue, as long as the announcements on board are in English I will be ok. haha
  7. We are going to Italy next summer and are planning on doing a 7 to 10 day cruise while we are there to see other parts of the Mediterranean. We have cruised a decent amount with Carnival, NCL (Haven) and most recently Virgin Voyages. I keep reading mixed reviews and it seems that people either love or hate MSC but I can not really figure out what the issue is/was. If we did the MSC cruise it would be with one of the ships that offer the Yacht Club..I really liked the look of the duplex rooms. We will be me (48m) Wife (42) and son 16. We enjoy lounge shows and live music, games and I enjoy the casino. Since most of the Med cruises seem very port intensive...would the YC be worth it? would you recommend MSC for this type of cruise? Thanks, Charles
  8. UPDATE: I was able to speak to one of the guys at WPT@Sea. They had tried to get a hold of me and was not able to leave a message (I may have assumed it was spam and declined it). Anyway, they needed my physical address which has now been given to them and they should be reaching back out to me next week with the info on how to claim my free cruise!!!! Very Happy how it turned out!!!
  9. Sooo....decided to play some poker while on the cruise, won my first $80 tournament which gave me a free buy-in to the $250 "main event" - with the Grand Prize of a Free 4 or 5 day cruise on Scarlet Lady in a Sea Terrace Room. I filled out some paperwork and was told that I would get an Email in 7 to 10 days. after almost 3 weeks and no Email, I called Virgin who transferred me to the Casino department...who said they (the person I was speaking to) didn't know anything about a free cruise for winning a poker tournament...but he put me on hold and called the manager, who informed him about the WPT at sea. However, the manager was actually gone for the day (this is when they told me the casino department was only 4 people?) and the manager would contact me the next day. Sure enough, I get a call the next day from the casino department manager who then gives me ANOTHER NUMBER to WPT@SEA in Kansas....I have called and emailed for 4 or 5 days with NO call, NO answer and NO reply back to my emails. Anyone have any idea what I can do to get my free cruise....second place was 1500 bucks, at this point, im thinking I should've went for that!
  10. My wife and I will be headed out in a few weeks for our 5 day on the SL. My wife enjoys wearing more formal long dresses and having me in a suit for dinner like we have for years on other lines. My question is, will we be out of place on VV? I have watched a ton of video's and I do not remember seeing anyone dressed up like that..with the exception of maybe some at the Wake?.. My dining reservations are for the wake, Pink Agave, Razzle Dazzle and Extra Virgin.
  11. Is it a BS offer or a "just in case someone cancels last minute".... Is there any chance of actually getting a suite?
  12. I was considering that, but the more I read I started to get worried. The website says they may not assign room until the day you board to ship.
  13. Got it taken care of. I spoke to a supervisor who also tried to say there was no way they would be able to make any changes. When I insisted that the website does not say anything about changes unless a room has been assigned..she was nice enough to say let me try and see if we can do it. a 600 hundred bucks later....I have a room with a view.
  14. So this is our first VV cruise. My wife purchased the lock it in rate, not realizing it was a limited view room. The website says it is a non-refundable rate, which is fine...I don't want a refund, I just want to be able to upgrade - PAY MORE MONEY...however, when I call, VV is telling me because of my cabin type, that I can not do that. I am not asking for a discounted upgrade..I am more than willing to pay the difference...but they seem like I am asking for the impossible. Anyone have any idea if this is a thing or did I just get ahold of the wrong CSR?
