Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thanks guys! We are going down 3 days pre cruise. We plan on going to the Glass Garden and Mpop
  2. Yes, this is very helpful! Hard pass on the level with the revolving floor! 🙂 but I think I would be fine going up. Not sure the views appear to be worth the $$ but if its not crowded, I may go up just for the experience.
  3. I want to go to the Space Needle, not sure I want to go into the Space Needle. I have a fear of heights. I'm fine going up, but I was told the floor is now glass? I don't think I could do that. Is there any part of the floor that isn't glass, so I could see the view. Would it even be worth the $$ to go inside?
  4. We are wanting to do the same thing. Our party split over 2 cabins wants to switch. We did this once before but didn't do it officially. We just switched on our own, but it was annoying to swap out keys to get in the room and back to get on/off the ship and have purchases attached to the correct person etc. This time I reached out to our TA to switch officially. She said that they would charge us a name change fee if we did it now and suggested that we wait until we board. I will go by guest services once we board and see if they will make it complicated to switch. If so, we will just switch unofficially again.
  5. Our bid for our upcoming sailing on the Bliss was accepted yesterday. I'm happy! If I had purchased the same cabin at the time I booked it would have been 1800 (900pp) more. My total bid $300 (150pp) was a lot of savings. The second cabin we booked was also upgraded (all the way forward the other cabin all the way aft). We are veteran cruisers (#34 in 2 weeks). We have had our bids accepted multiple cruises and different lines and now see this as a great way to save money and get a better cabin. That said.....it really depends how picky you are. We have sailed in the front and the back. (I find the weather and ship size/age matter more with how rocky it might be if you are forward or aft) We have sailed in an inside and in a balcony suite. We have sailed in the lower decks and the higher decks, below the dining room and adjacent to the theater. We have our preferences but can make most anything work for a week. If you are such a cruiser....go for it. If you are particular, you may not want to roll the dice. I've been upgraded to a midship cabin in a more desirable location then what I gave up and I've also been upgraded to a cabin in a location that I probably wouldn't have selected if given a choice. If you aren't comfortable with that possibility don't bid. I tend to base my decision on whether to bid on other factors: Price. How much do I like the cabin I'm currently in? Do I need multiple cabins in proximity? Do we have a lot of sea days/lengthy port times? Is it a really long cruise (8+ plus)? Because those factors affect how much time we will spend in the cabin and how much of a sacrifice it might be if we get a cabin we are less than thrilled with. Fortunately for us, we haven't regretted it yet and I expect we won't this cruise either.
  6. Hi, we are looking to hike Tet Paul Nature Trail, maybe stop at the Diamond Waterfall Botanical Garden/Jalousie Beach to see the Pitons. What will a taxi cost to get us there? Has anyone just gotten off the ship and found a taxi tour at the ship to cover these places?
  7. We are on this sailing too. Have you joined the roll call for this sailing?
  8. Did they offer any specialty dining packages once aboard?
  9. We are on the 4/1 sailing. So I guess we will be taking your place. 🙂
  10. Were your boarding times enforced? We have a later boarding time than I hoped. I was wondering if they would allow us to check in if we arrived at the pier earlier or turn us away? Also, how early were you able to book entertainment?
  11. It's the one we are planning to book later this week. We are too far out to book right now.
