Rhodes beaches

We will be in Rhodes in the end of June for a full day (8am-11pm) and have rented a car. Originally I had planned on driving to Lindos, then hitting St Paul's bay and driving back to Rhodes and exploring. Now I am thinking, as this is our first trip, I might not have allowed enough time for Rhodes town.

I am really interested in spending some time at the beach and Old Rhodes town. Do we really need a car? If not, which beach should we visit. Anthony Quinn bay looks interesting, and closer. But not sure a taxi would be much cheaper than our rental car.

There are nice beaches in Rhodos town, on the tip of the bay near the aquarium. You can walk there.

Allow at least five hours to wander around the Rhodes old town and perhaps eight hours.
