Make those reservations and join in the festivities! I saw in a separate interview where they are expecting 15K people to at the Agua Clara Locks on the Atlantic side and over 30K at the Cocoli Locks on the Pacific side. Just a guess, but I think you are going to have to arrive very early in order to see more than the back of the person standing in front of you! I'm sure the whole country will be in holiday mode. Not sure if RSVP will be necessary!!
