RCCL whale lot parking?

I have a question for anyone that has sailed RCCL Voyager of the Seas lately. My elderly parents are sailing out of New Orleans this coming Saturday and I have a question about parking. Do you recommend dropping your luggage off at the Julia St terminal first or just going directly to the "whale" lot and having a truck bring the luggage. I am looking for the easiest way so that I can give them advice before they leave. They are looking at a 2 hour drive to New Orleans and I am trying to keep it as simple as possible. We all have used the parking tower for Carnival in New Orleans but never sailed RCCL before. Any advice? Thanks!!:)
