Mrs Booboo Posted March 23, 2005 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2005 Can anyone tell me where the Tortuga Rum Factory is located? We thought we might like to take a tour.
cupidbaby99 Posted March 23, 2005 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2005 The turtle Farm. It's really just a small store unless our tour guide didn't show us the right place. Took all of 15 minutes of our time I think. They offer more selection than the cruise ship store.
kjunea Posted March 23, 2005 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2005 You can also get them in downtown Georgetown. If you want to go out there, you can see the turtle farm and visit Hell either on the way there or back. They are all on that end of the Island, past Seven Mile Beach. Mike2131 Posted March 24, 2005 #4 Share Posted March 24, 2005 Can anyone tell me where the Tortuga Rum Factory is located? We thought we might like to take a tour. The "factory" by the turtle farm is larger and had a wider selection to taste. The shop near the tenders offers the same selection of cakes, but is smaller and had fewer out to sample. The cakes are also available on the ship (a more limited selection of "packages") and they are available on line as well.
Mrs Booboo Posted March 24, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted March 24, 2005 So the "factory" does not really involve a tour showing the making of the actual rum? Or is it really just another store selling rum and rum cakes? Is there tasting of the different rums, or just the rum cakes?

There were samples of cakes (my favorites were the Original and Pineapple but they were all good) and rums/rum mixtures (maybe 6-8?) to try. Trainacomin Posted March 25, 2005 #7 Share Posted March 25, 2005 Is it easy to get a cab back to the pier from the turtle farm? c
Mike2131 Posted March 25, 2005 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2005 Is it easy to get a cab back to the pier from the turtle farm? c Due to rough seas, all the snorkel and scuba excursions for the 4 ships in port were cancelled, so we were actually on a tour instead of in the water! The location was pretty busy so getting a cab back to the docks should be a piece of cake. LOL. Have a great cruise!
