Just Couldn't Wait!

As both Houstonians and folks whose cruise line of choice is Princess, we're thrilled that the Crown will be coming to Galveston. We were looking at sailing in December of '12, but the only dates available include Christmas and New Year's. So we figured, what the hell ... booked for 1/12/13. Got an outstanding price, with onboard credit from both Princess and our travel agency. We also have a future cruise credit from our Alaska trip last May, so we won't be tying up any additional money ... just the $200 which Princess has anyway.

The itinerary is a bit different ... yes, there's Cozumel (just like there's always St. Thomas on the eastern runs), but we'll be stopping at Belize, Roatan and Costa Maya, rather than the usual Jamaica and Grand Cayman ... we've been there so often, the sting rays know us by our first names.

Apparently, we're not alone ... according to our TA, the date is selling nicely, and he anticipates a price increase shortly. It sounds as if it's two years away ... but these things have a habit of creeping up on you. We have another cruise scheduled for February, and will certainly get another one (or more) in before we board the Crown.

What a tribute to Galveston ... five ships from four cruise lines sailing out of such a small homeport. Gotta be doing something right!
