Speke Hall by Public Transit

Speke Hall is supposedly accessible by the 500 bus from Central Liverpool. It looks like the stop at Estuary Banks and Leeward Road is closest to the Hall. However, again from the map, getting there seems to involve walking down to a traffic circle, going around it a bit to the next road, and then down the walk to the Hall itself.

So my questions are: (1) Is there likely to be a footpath around the traffic circle? (2) Is this the sort of area in which an obvious non-local would feel comfortable walking? and if the answer to (2) is no, about what would cab fare be from the cruise dock, say St. Nicholas Place or wherever the nearest cab rank might be? In a 2008 thread on this board it was said to be £10, but I suspect that is somewhat out of date.

A quick look on Google Street View shows footpaths on all the roads there. Bear in mind that it is at least a mile from the bus stop to the house though.

A pre-booked taxi from Albert Dock should cost around 15GBP each way and would leave your legs fit for exploring the house and grounds.
