I will be cruising out of Venice next year and would like to start planning my pre cruise days. I would like to see Cinque Terre primarily. These are the two itineraries I came up with and would like comments and opinions on this, especially if you have done the train portion.

5/22 Arrive Florence 5/22 Arrive Milan train to CT

5/23 Florence 5/23 CT

5/24 Train to CT 5/24 CT am then train to Florence

5/25 Ct overnight 5/25 Florence

5/26 Ct to Venice 5/26 Train to Venice

5/27 Venice overnight 5/27 Venice

5/28 Venice to port 5/28 Venice to port

Thanks in advance.

Your second itinerary seems to eliminate back tracking and would be my choice.

I'm doing CT this September before my cruise from Civitavecchia.

May I suggest that you fly into Genoa and training to CT. CT is just over 30 minutes from Genoa.

Genoa to Cinque Terre to Florence to Venice just flows better.
