Embarkation Wheelchair Service for Carnival (San Pedro)

I'll be making my first cruise on Carnival this fall. On my last trip with RCI I had wheelchair service to the ship with CareVacations scooter rental onboard.

I was very disappointed that the wheelchair "pusher" was in such a hurry to get me onboard that he completely blitzed past the Welcome Aboard photographer. I tried to get him to stop but it was chaos and I'm not sure if he heard me. It could be the cruise line's policy not to stop so they can accommodate all who need the service.

Should I expect the same thing from Carnival? I've only left from Pier 93 in San Pedro and we'll be using Pier 92 so I don't know how much walking will be involved. I can walk short distances and am trying to decide if it's worth it to have the wheelchair and miss the picture or try to tough it out.

Would appreciate any comments from those of you who've been there.
