My party wants to go to Macau instead of Hong Kong. (They have been to Hong Kong before ) Would anyone want to tell me if it is better to take an excursion from the Diamond Princess, or could we take the ferry and do it ourselves ??

Thanks

Just Alice

Hello Just Alice:

I was in Macau from Hong Kong , 2009 on a day trip.

It can be done on your own.

I would assume Diamond Princess, berth in KwaiChung (container terminal), a shuttle will take you to Ocean Terminal (take about an hours).

North of the Ocean Terminal alone Canton Road, there is one Macau Ferry Terminal (about 10 min walk), I think it call Chain / Hong Kong Ferry Terminal. Be sure to buy return ticket, once is Macau you can hire a taxi for the day and catch the ferry back to Hong Kong to board the ship.

You will need a passport, but No visa required.

There is another ferry terminal in Hong Kong side,

Of course, if you don't want to miss the cruise ship, ship's excursion is better.
