crosj Posted February 8, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2015 We are trying to save a few $ by driving to the city and parking within walking distance. Any suggestions?? One of our friends has a walking disability and for that reason we have to hire a suv. He has a walker which takes up a lot of room. 4 adults plus 4 suitcases plus walker= an SUV. One of our friends has an SUV which we can borrow but need to find a garage that won't break the bank. And also many garages charge an addition $10 per day to park an suv. Steirisch Posted March 8, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2015 When I used to live in the Bay Area, I'd usually park in the Sutter-Stockton Garage. Here is a website that lists their rates, and they don't mention an extra charge for an SUV: http://www.sfmta.com/getting-around/parking/parking-garages/sutter-stockton-garage It's near Union Square, Chinatown, and the Financial District (depending on which street you walk out of the garage from. They have color coded elevators, so you'll be able to remember your floor.
wp bob Posted March 12, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2015 check imperial parking. they have a place on Francisco St across from Pier 35 area and walking distance to the new pier. They were $16/day. There is another garage on the same street that is $18 maybe.
