Timing of Debarkation in Nuremberg

Any help would be appreciated. I am visiting my niece who lives in Germany near Frankfurt before my cruise on Amawaterways. I can get some nice airfare through using points but can't do multicity. So I'm going to need to take a different airline since Delta doesn't go from Nuremberg to Frankfurt. My big question is will I have enough time if I take a United flight from Nuremberg at 7 AM and gets into Frankfurt at 7:50 AM. I will probably have to pick up my luggage and then get my luggage on my flight to the USA which would be at 10:30 am.

If you can't book with a skymiles partner with Delta (they would book your luggage through Frankfurt), and you are going to have to book with another airline - why not go with Lufthansa, which will leave Nuremberg at 6:00 and arrive in Frankfurt at 6:50, giving you an additional hour of breathing room to retrieve your luggage and check it with Delta? An extra hour would cause less anxiety. And the flight is $130 one way. Just an idea.
