Visa Requirement for Singapore-Tioman Island cruise trip

Hi friends,

I am travelling to Singapore with my wife and my father in last week of Sept.

I have also included Star Cruise (Singapore-Tioman Island-Singapore) trip in it, to get experience of cruise.

All of us are holding Indian passport and valid Singapore visa with multiple entries. My query is - do we need to apply for tourist visa for Malaysia?

I checked with Star Cruise and was advised that they will issue transit pass which allows to stay for 72 hours. And it will be quite sufficient for us as we will be staying on Tioman Island for 12 hours only.

However, I am getting opinion from travel agents saying that I will need to apply for Malaysia visa, as this island is part of Malaysia.

If anyone has traveled on this cruise or anyone is aware of requirements, can please confirm on it?

Thanks in advance.

Jacks
