Puerto Quepos, Costa Rica

Yes, I've been to Quepos. There is quite a bit to do in the area. It really depends on what you are looking for, and yes there are a lot of independent tour operators. Since it's not a routine cruise ship port you may want to make contact with the operators before your trip to schedule something. It's a huge tourist area especially for Costa Ricans getting out of the capital for the weekend, so there is quite a few excursions with varying levels of "touristy" and many are relatively close to town so you won't need to spend all day on a bus.

What type of activity do you want to do?

Are you going on Seabourn? They are one of the few I know of that stop there.

you have given great info for this port. We are arriving with Azamara Jan 3rd and like adventure, but tend to book with locals who provide a less touristy side of things. Can you suggest such a small company? exploring fishing, river rafting, or anything else active fun :)
