NCL Catamaran Sailaway and Beach Excursion

We'll be in Tortola on the Epic in February and are considering the "Catamaran Sailaway and Beach" excursion. Has anyone else tried this one? Does the catamaran have a shady area? We are both fair skinned and need to have access to some shade.
