Excursion to Spinalonga

We are on Cunard QE in September 2nd day is Heraklion. The ship are only offering 3 excursions not one to Spinalonga where i have aloways wanted to go. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so a company to approach?

Hi. We've visited Spinalonga whilst holidaying in Elounda which is the village opposite Spinalonga and the place where boat trips leave from. We've also visited Heraklion on a cruise and whilst holidaying on Crete. Elounda is over an hour from Heraklion by car. Can't remember how long the boat trip took but according to http://www.eloundaboat.gr they go every 30 minutes.

Hiring a car or taxi may be your best option depending on how much time you have.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Island and this is a beautiful part of Crete.

Yes we really enjoyed it. I'd also read the Island which probably influenced us choosing to stay in Elonda. I hope you manage to get there!
