We are doing viking beyla Sept 24 beginning in Prague. We are doing Prague pre cruise on our own and staying in Berlin for 5 days before flying to Paris. The Elbe is noted for having low water. Last summer many ships did not sail. If you look at past posts though many people were pleased with viking. Seems like there might be some boat transfer as well as short bus trips. On this particular itinerary one needs to go with the flow (no pun intended).

We are hopefully sailing on 7 July, am interested that you are sailing on the Shumaan, did you have the opportunity to go on one of the new longships, we were told they were just for the American market, we much prefer to have a mix on board

Will let you know about water levels, we have had so much rain here and in Europe hoping it will be ok

Hi Sue,

We were on the Forseti 4/11/15 and loved that trip. Most of our cruises have been on long ships. We book balconies or veranda rooms that are at least 170 sq. ft. We have an AX room on the Schumann. The new long ships were completely sold out when we booked last Oct. There have been mostly Americans on our Viking trips, a few Brits,Canadians and Aussies.

The Avalon trip was Monte Carlo to Paris and had more of a mixture.

We have been following the river levels on http://www.rivercruiseinfo.com/content/river-levels. Hope that you fill be able to cruise.

BTW we have booked the Viking Sky for next April, Venice to Barcelona .

Will be interested to see your feed back.
