Procedure for back-to-back passengers in port

We are sailing on back-to-back EB/WB transatlantics for the first time, and I was wondering what are the procedures for those passengers not disembarking when you reach port.

Do you wait for all those disembarking to have their areas called and go through immigration? Or are you handled in a different way? When you return, do you have a different entrance procedure from the new passengers getting on?

Thank you --- getting very, very excited!

British immigration formalities are carried out onboard eastbound, you will be advised when to attend the inspection.

As a consequence at Southampton you can disembark when you like, you will walk straight through the baggage hall and the customs area to the kerb.

On return there is no special gangway for in transit guests, but you will be able to bypass the check in area at the Ocean Terminal and go straight to security screening. Again there is no separate line at security for in transit but recent experience has shown it is fairly efficient these days barring any unfortunate foul up.

If the immigration has been completed on board you are at liberty to remain on the ship should you wish.
