Just a few days to go, anyone else on the Italian flavours cruise? Have booked a rome in limo tour for the day in rome(2 nd sept), if anyone wishes to share the tour.

Unfortunately not! Enjoy!

We did the Italian Flavours in June it was lovely, the best day was when we went Messina , we went to the Maffia villages,the views were beautiful. Wish we had done the Rome tour now, we didnt because we had already been Rome, went Tuscania and wine tour instead, wasnt worth the money i didnt think , hope you have a lovely time,

Thank you both, the stop in messina is just a few hours, so unsure what we plan while there

Wish we had done the Mafia Villages in June, there was nothing to see in Messina!

Just wondering who you booked the mafia villages tour with?

Make sure you do not get ripped of on the 'train that goes up to the view point and round the clock' , when we went, we paid the same for two of us as a group of 4 adults.

Would add to Thompsons standard warning as well about those people selling at the entrance to the port, what you buy is not necessarily what you get, we heard over dinner that some people on our cruise last year were sadly really ripped off in this port of call.

We found Messina to be one of the worst ports we have stopped in.

We done the open top bus tour around the town that basically was a tour of Graffiti on the various government buildings.

We then tried to have a drink and cake in the Clock square only to be dive bombed by Pidgeons.

We were pestered everywhere we walked by touts offering trips or taxi rides to see the sights.

The only saving grace was an Irish bar opposite the dock that had free Wi Fi and snacks.

Given the choice again I would stay on the boat.
