Actually, that would be an 8-day cruise. What you are considering to be the 9th day is debarkation day, which actually doesn't count. You are getting right off the ship first thing in the morning, so nobody really sees that as a cruise day, and the cruiselines will not consider it a cruise day. You will get credit only for 8 days.

 

What nights are elegant nights will often depend on your itinerary. If you provide the itinerary, there might be someone who has taken that itinerary that can tell you for sure. The first one will almost certainly be on the 2nd night, whether that is a port day or sea day, and that's the one that will have the lobster. The 2nd one is usually either night 6 or 7, and the menu for it really isn't that great.
