Club Royale - Recent Casino visit Oasis of the seas

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know I just got off the Oasis two days ago. As far as Club Royale for RCI here was my experience.

There was a letter in my stateroom the first day from the casino host advising me to come to the casino to introduce myself. My husband and I went there and they gave both of us stickers on our sea pass cards which gave us free drinks while gambling and to waive any cash advance fee. I gamble and my husband doesn't but they did extend the free drinks to him. I'm just a water drinker but if you drink beer or cocktails it was a nice perk. Those Casino servers were great and came around a lot whether i was at a table or a slot.

To qualify for a free cruise you had to get a certain amount of points on your card. I asked the host to check my points on the last day and between the slots and tables I had enough for a future cruise certificate. The offer though was not as good as I thought. The certificate they gave me was just for me and the "free" cruises were the same ones offered to me at the beginning of the year through a mailer. (3 and 4 day ones) IN fact there was a long list of cruises to choose from and 1/2 of the cruises had already passed. Free cruise or $500 off.

The casino host did comp me and my hubby a dinner at chops and a bottle of wine due to my play. That was nice as it was on our 10 year anniversary.

I found the slots were very very tight and I did not do well but the tables were good to me. I can't remember a time in a casino where the slots were worse. the indian casinos are much better and I think those are tight. I had no jackpots over $200 and I play $5 pulls. I was in the casino every night and from what I could hear/see there were no significant jackpots on the slots. Disappointing.

Panda3,

I will be cruising on the Oasis of the Seas soon and I have a few questions:

1) You said there was a letter in your stateroom inviting you to the casino and you received stickers for free drinks while gambling...do you think the letter was in every cabin or did they somehow know that you were players? Maybe you cruised and gambled with them before?

2) Do you recall the table minimums for craps?

3) Do you recall the odds they were allowing for craps? I hear it is usually 1x odds on cruises but I would like to know for sure.

Thanks!

Panda3 thank you for your review. This is similar to how the Oasis was for us in November. We had NEVER seen such tight slots, and I worked in a land-based casino for 6 years! Since my husband and I are both big gamblers we have no intention of returning to the Oasis. (The rest of the trip had many disappointments as well). Hopefully, this is not the same on the other newer ships. We have found much, much better luck on the Freedom class or smaller.

One thing we did enjoy about the Oasis casino was we were able to get Big bottles of water, so made sure we took some back to the cabin each night. Our whole family are water drinkers so definitely a plus!
