APT (same as AMA) cancellations announcement

This message just received from the CEO of APT in Australia:

Melbourne, Tuesday 4 June 2013: “In response to the unprecedented flooding in Central Europe that is causing major disruption to both towns and waterways, and following liaison with local authorities, I can confirm that APT is adjusting its current cruising itineraries and that the decision has been taken to cancel four forthcoming sailings. “Our priority is ensuring delivery of itineraries as advertised in our brochure and, of course, the safety of our passengers and crew. This has been the foundation of our decision to make changes to our itineraries and sailings.” “To enable travellers currently cruising with APT and Travelmarvel to continue their journey, passengers are being transferred between ships and itineraries adjusted to avoid worst affected areas. We have an experienced team on the ground in Europe looking after these passengers. “The decision to cancel four of our forthcoming sailings has been guided following an indepth assessment of current and forecast water levels for the coming days.

“I can confirm that the following itineraries have been cancelled:

- 6 June 2013 – Travelmarvel Johann Strauss from Amsterdam to Budapest

- 7 June 2013 – APT AmaDante from Budapest to Amsterdam

- 8 June 2013 – APT AmaBella from Amsterdam to Budapest

- 8 June 2013 – APT AmaVerde from Budapest to Amsterdam

“All other APT and Travelmarvel cruises and tours will continue to operate in the region at this stage, albeit with variations to itineraries.
