Wow!! That is good to hear. In 2 weeks we will be sailing on the Sinfonia. Looking forward to our first European cruise. Have done probably 50 others but mostly Caribbean and Trans Atlantic.

From what I am reading from this post. I am better off just getting off the ship in Marghera, wherever that is, and do my own tour and gondola or taxi thing. Sound right?

Did you do this on your own or was it a planned tour? recently? Cost?

Thanks. Is there difficulty getting in and out of the boats? I don't use a cane but knee is not the best.

Has anyone taken the gondola tour from the ship or a private tour? Is it worth the money? Is it difficult to get in and out of boat? I have a gimpy knee and wondering if that will be a problem. Thanks.

One more thing. How was desembarkation? We have a flight to catch after the cruise. What time were you off the ship?

Thanks for the review. We are looking forward to our trip on May 23rd. We usually sail the larger ships but decided to try this because of cost and agenda. We have the plus drink package which is usually adequate for us. It seems like there are a few tender ports, thought they all were dock ports. Is it advisable to book tours or just go ashore and hire someone in port to show us around? Are there hop on hop off buses in any ports? Is speaking english only a problem? What made you pick this ship for a cruise? Thanks.

We were on the Seashore in February. It must have been a different Seashore. We experienced none of the negative comments you are are referring to. Especially the bartenders. They are a bit slower than some other cruise lines but never was ignored and no extra tip was needed.

We have been on 2 previous msc cruises from Florida and enjoyed both. On May 23rd we are sailing on the older msc sinfonia from Athens. This will be a completely different type of cruise than what we have been on before. I always say the people that write these extreme negative reviews either work for another cruise line or expect a Oceania experience for an msc price. We have been on over 50 cruises with most cruise lines and outside of some minor differences and complaints, we are more than happy with MSC. Food, cabin, entertainment etc has been just great. The staff have always been friendly and helpful.

Is there enough time to get to Venice and back? That is a lot of people wanting to go someplace at the same time. Do all the cruise ships dock at Marghera or Fusina? According to the port of Marghera website, the Sinfonia docks there.
