  1. I echo what everyone else advises. If possible , get in a day early.

The last few years, IMHO, under an extreme abundance of caution , it seems that

airlines are now very quick to cancel flights and airports are very quick to close in advance of possible bad weather of any kind, sometimes days early .

Hurricanes to tropical storms to snow.

The EN is a wonderful ship, good wishes for a great cruise.

  2. I bought a soft 40 inch garment bag called a Wallybag at Amazon for 29 dollars.

I'm pretty sure it was recommended by others here.

This is not strong enough to be airline checked, but, it's comfortable enough to carry on the ship , as it folds in half.

We came in the day before our cruise and at the hotel, I ironed any clothes from my checked suitcases that had gotten wrinkled

and repacked them in the Wallybag.

Having to carry the bag onboard was a small inconvenience , but, I didn't have to worry about lost luggage and wrinkled clothes. Even though the Wallybag is soft and lightweight and it was carried folded in half,

the clothes did stay very wrinkle free.

I packed very lightweight metal hangers in my suitcase and hung more than one item on each hanger , as you cannot get more than 4 or 5 metal hangers in the top clasp.

  3. We recently traveled with someone with bladder problems who wondered the same thing when we tendered to Coco Cay.

It looked like there might possibly be one , albeit very primitive ,

in the back of the tender on the lower level, IIRC .

The ride itself to Coco Cay was short , maybe 5 minutes.

But..waiting for the tender to load took much longer . It might be more comfortable to hang back until it's almost full before boarding.

  4. I used to think it was just me.

Over a period of months , after I booked two cabins with RCI , I would call to fine tune , book excursions or make a payment.

I always called on my lunch hour - 1 pm EST.

Without fail..every single time.. I called, I was told that their computer system was down because of " IT maintenance " and to check back in 24 hours.

It seemed like an excuse , which was weird , because often I was trying to give RCI more money.

One time, the RCI agent and I stayed on the phone for 15 minutes while he waited for the computers to eventually come back on line .

For such a major company to continue to have ongoing computer and internet problems is odd.

  5. We were on the Enchantment last weekend , Feb 7-9 . We rocked and rolled down to our first stop in Nassau ( 6 foot seas ) and it was very, very windy and very chilly all day in Nassau. Not at all what the weather websites had predicted.

We were all convinced Coco would be a No Go.

We left Nassau at midnight as scheduled and low and behold, we made it to Coco Cay.

Captain McDuff said the winds shifted from the east and he was able to position the ship to protect the tenders.

The ride to CoCo was uneventful , it was sunny and beautiful all day, but, pretty much too chilly to enjoy any water activities.

We were still grateful that we were able to enjoy the island.

  6. It seems like every single time I have called RCCL the past few months , I get the same response from the operators.

Our system is down, IT is performing maintenance , call back in 24 or 48 hours.

Every operator is always pleasant , in fact I had a very nice conversation with one young man , originally from Costa Rica ,

while we waited for 15 minutes to see if the system would come back up.

    It did.

It just seems odd that IT is always working on the system. I call usually around this time when I get the same answer.

I wonder if it's an excuse or a legitimate , ongoing and serious problem with their system.

  7. Sunshine , I agree with you on the horse carriage rides.

Last year we were on the 3 day Enchantment , with a balcony that

    overlooked Nassau .

After we returned from our Nassau excursion , I sat outside on the balcony with a glass of wine,

enjoying the gorgeous weather and the view.

I had just called our dog's boarding facility and was assured that our fur baby

was doing just great. So, I was feeling relaxed and all was well.

I could see that the horses were now in a covered area , so at least they were sheltered from the hot sun. I did not see any water for them.

At some point during my balcony relaxation ,

I became aware of some commotion with one of the horses.

One of the horses had either slipped or collapsed and was down on the ground.

    That was horrifying enough.

But, one of the men began hitting the horse to get it up .

I burst into tears at the cruelty and ran into our cabin. My poor husband knew I had been on the phone about our dog, so at first, he was very alarmed.

I explained the horse cruelty and he went on the balcony to check.

He told me the horse had gotten up , but, the whole disgusting abuse ruined my day.

I could not get the image of that poor animal out of my mind.
