  1. Contact Secrets Wild Orchid & get a day pass. We booked this through the ship, but you can do it on your own. It's about a 5-10 minute cab ride to the resort. It's all-inclusive, with pools, hot tub, beach, dining, bars.

I couldn't get the pics to upload here, but you can look at them on my page. They are under 2015 Carnival Magic vacation.

How much was this place for a day pass directly through the all inclusive and not Carnival?

  2. We just got off the Dream on Sunday. We went to breakfast and left our bags in the room. During breakfast they called for our level to self disembark, but we went ahead and took our time eating. By the time we finished, grabbed our luggage and got to the lobby, the line was just starting to thin out. We strolled right off the boat with no problems and no long wait. It was easy peasy.

  3. The boyfriend and I took four six packs of 24 oz bottles of Diet Mountain Dew in a small suitcase as part of our checked luggage. Worked for us because we used the same suitcase to carry back all the stuff we bought on the cruise. We didn't have to worry with cramming more stuff in our suitcases. Plus they didn't mind the bigger bottles.

  4. Great, I didn't mean to be rude! Have fun on your cruise, teacher! Tell that boy to pay less attention to tumbling dice and more attention to the front of the class! :D

You weren't rude at all. I cracked up! And that's right about front if the class or he's gonna lose recess! Bahaha

I wish I could hit a "like" button for these posts and ideas! I think I'm going to be like, "Uh. Yeah. Why don't you go play cards more. I've got things to do like spa-ing, bingo-ing, trivia, slot tourney-ing, singing with the piano bar guy, and MUCH more I have to do." Hehe. ;-)

  5. Totally understandable the way that you now describe it. I too like to find some 'me time' during the cruise. I either just walk the ship after my wife goes to sleep, usually ending up in full-blown people watching stage...or I head for the gym and work out. If I get really bored, I'll sit for a spell in the discotheque or the lounge where the band plays.

After reading your initial post, I thought that he was getting to the ship and sending you on your merry way to fend for yourself like many parents do with their kids via Camp Carnival. icon11.gif

My post did sort of sound that way after I went back and reread it. I like the idea of taking a stroll. And people watching really is the best!! Lol. :) Is the gym open 24/7?

  6. Have you joined your Roll Call yet? You might find out if someone is cruising solo or like yourself has a spouse/boyfriend that likes to do other things. You might plan some of these things suggested with a new Roll Call friend. The spa closes at 10:00 on the Dream. Also there are other music events on the Dream and you could always go to the evening show, especially if your boyfriend doesn't really like them (like my husband). He could play for awhile while you are there.

I did join the roll call. Not many on there as of yet. The ones on there are all coming with a big group or family. I've seen where so many groups connect on the roll call and all meet. That sounds awesome. I'm hoping the roll call gets more and more to join as we get closer to June sail date!

  7. I made a Facebook page last month for our Feb 8 cruise on the Dream and now have 150 friends to play with!!! I planned an Event for a Sip and Sail at the Serenity deck for us all to meet, morning on our first sea day at the aft pool, etc. I'm hoping to make many friends to hand with as my husband is not as social as I am!!!

After reading this, I searched Facebook for any pages for the cruise we are taking and couldn't find any, but I did join a group of folks that sail out of New Orleans. Nobody on there for the June 22nd sail date, but maybe I'll connect with some folks. Really cool idea! Thanks so much :-)

  8. Soas is ship on a stick. Lol. :)

I loved the spa and would definitely do that. I could relax in the therapy pool or sauna for hours. :D

I also love tea time in the afternoons. They have fancy teas, hot coffee, and hot chocolate along with cakes, a selection of finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries. Everyone was laughing and talking and having a good time. They do it every sea day in the afternoon.

I also love finding a shady sofa in the adults only serenity area and reading a good book.

The tea sounds great! I did read a little on our cruise last year. It was very relaxing.

Okay. I really want to win an SOAS!!! Haha

  9. Tell your boyfriend to pay a little less attention to the tables, and more attention to his lady. Problem solved!

Now that sounds like a solution, but he's on vacation too and does enjoy playing. I don't mind a few hours apart when we're going to be together so much anyhow. :-) I'm just looking for ideas for my me-time, some of which I'm sure I'll love and he might not so much. Win-win!

  10. We didn't book a spa stateroom, but that certainly sounds right up my alley. I'll definitely look into that! It's probably not open late, so if I opt for this, he will just have to play cards earlier. Ha! Thanks :-)

  11. My boyfriend and I are taking a cruise in June aboard the Dream and I'm looking for activity ideas. He is a gambler and spends hours at the tables. I don't mind hanging out in the casino with him some, but I got bored on the last cruise doing this. I lounged and read and caught a couple shows, but was hoping for some other suggestions. Any ideas? Thanks in advance
