  1. Recent Oceana voyage outside of school holidays and the Kids Club didn’t run the morning session on port days. Open as usual in the afternoon and evening.

Ah ok so the morning time might be different I've only cruised in school holidays

  2. Ours is 2 weeks, starting on the 14th of June.

Good luck eddiecat I would be upset too I wouldn't expect to go on holiday as a couple and be given twin beds . Let us know how you get on . I guess why they can't just switch you with someone else is that maybe all the rooms have been allocated and once you get a room I don't think they move you unless it's an upgrade . Can u imagine being given a room then getting moved to a worse one that customer would end up complaining too

  3. Here’s a tip, one of the BEST things I ever bought for my toddlers. Buy a Pottette, they are about $15 on amazon, and a pack of refills. It’s a completely foldable compact potty that you can fit into any daypack etc. we used it countless times when my daughter was little, side of road, back of car, street fairs etc

    Great idea thank you

  4. Hi all, we are due to sail on Britannia 20th May it’s a double celebration for my husband (60th bday and retirement ) our daughter who is travelling with us would like to make and decorate a cake to bring on board for us to eat on his bday in the cabin

    Is that possible ?

    Thank you in advance

We bought one on the ship that they delivered to the dining room it wasn't very expensive at all.

  5. Also do bear in mind, the football World Cup is being hosted by Russia this summer. I would be amazed if anything kicked off before that extremely profitable event is over.

Very true if the England team decided not to travel I think it would be hard for p and to to justify visiting

  6. Before we retired we used to do part of our journey the night before then have a shorter journey the next day because it was less stressful being closer to Southampton on sailing day.

That is actually a fab idea. Even going half way would be a lot less stressful . Thanks for the tip.

  7. Regardless of distance, I would never travel on the day. A few years ago we were travelling to Heathrow, we lived just under an hour away. There was an accident on the M4 causing us a delay of 4HOURS! Had we not booked accommodation we would definitely have missed our (long haul Maldives) flight!

Now we live even further away from both Heathrow and Southampton, we ALWAYS travel the day before.

Not always possible when you only have a limited amount of holidays to take . But if I could do that I would too .

  8. Just want to add that i wasn't suggesting that people who travel far (6hour journey myself ) can arrive within their allocated time. The OP wanted her time changed caused she didn't want to entertain her child for a few hours till her time . I arrive when I arrive to difference is I'm prepared to wait for the three hours if I need too.

  9. The only time people have difficulties which I have said many times is if you stay in hotel night before cruise you may, like we have to do is vacate your room at 10am and do not fancy sitting around hotel reception for 3-4 hrs and do not like the idea of driving into Southampton city centre and parking on car park and wandering around city centre while worrying about security of my property in my car because it all will not fit out of sight in the boot due to amount of luggage we take and size of boot.

Yep totally agree but then you turn up early and are prepared to wait if need be. If you get on early fantastic but the OP is wanting them to change her e ticket as she thinks she should get to change her time due to her having a child.

  10. Currently in Southampton and have a check out time of 12 noon in the hotel so will be arriving for our cruise at around 12.30 tomorrow, due to board at 3pm so we may have a bit of a wait in the terminal judged by some peoples experiences. You never know we may be pleasantly surprised.

Hope you have a great holiday .

  11. In Feb on Oriana, we were on at 12:10 (Caribbean Grade) and out friends (with 3PM boarding) at 12:30. Caribbeans were already boarding when we got to check in at 12:00.

Again can't really compare p and o smallest ship which is also adult only to the likes of Brittania .

  12. How do RCI manage to load Indepenence which has more passengers than Britannia without making a song and dance about it. If they can do it then P&O should be able to waltz through loading a tiddly little ship like Ventura.

I am just grateful there are so many sheep sailing on P&O, which leaves me with the opportunity to arrive early and board early.

As I said arrive early if you want I do it to.The OP wasn't wanting to arrive early and take a chance she was wanting them to CHANGE it on the grounds she has a child. But to expect them to change to the time for you cause you have a child as I said is not on and they will say no if she asks .

  13. Ignore the doomsayers and turn up at a time that suits you, they won't turn you away and the earlier you arrive the higher ticket number you will be given and the sooner you will board.

The chaos suggested by some rarely exists and slowly P&O seem to be improving their embarkation procedure, shortly they might begin to get close to smooth, slick and quick embarkation that the RCI group manage at Southampton.

It is hardly being a doomsayer to suggest that Pand O would be in utter chaos if they let every Tom Dick and Harry pick their embarkation time. To think that having a child will let you pick your time when most boarding will have young children is crazy . Would you like to turn up at the port and be behind all the family's with kids ? No you wouldn't mind right ? So by all means it is fine to turn up at 1 or whenever you want and wait your turn with those with and without children . To think having a child should let you pick your time is a different matter. I have three kids under 5 should I be allowed on at 10 then 😂

  14. People are simply saying that everyone should show respect and adhere to the dress code. They are not sitting in judgement of others and nobody has said that people not adhering to the dress code has spoiled their holiday.

Ah ok when someone posted saying unfortunately the Benidorm crowds are all ready on the ships that certainly wasn't judging people

  15. There is nothing wrong with Benidorm, or the people that go there, but my point is (and I am not judging anyone), but if you know the ship has a dress code, don't complain if it doesn't suit you. Do what you want to do, but don't criticise others that want to "dress up".

Can you point me to a post where i or anyone else criticised anyone for dressing up? Cause the only people criticising are the ones who think they are too good for people that taking a certain type of holiday moves them up the pecking order. Maybe in their own heads that the case 😂
