As we approached Hubbard Glacier, it started to rain lightly and got foggy.

A few minutes ago at about 2:30pm, the cruise director said the pilot had been on the ship for about an hour. He said the pilot and captain made the decision to turn around due to the fog. 😢  You can see on cruise mapper that Brilliance of the Seas somehow made it in before our ship.

We are going to the spa to nap on the heated lounge chairs. It’s the first NCL spa ever to not have chair hogs so far. 😁

Was so disappointed that we didn't make it to the glacier.  Are these Spa thermal heated lounge chairs extra $ or can anyone enjoy them?

Good morning from beautiful Seward. We had a nice evening listening to B12 and watching the silly Battle of the Sexes game show. Most areas seemed quiet as people must have gone back to pack or to go to bed early.

We are excited for 7 more days.

Wow, that’s a good amount of drink suggestions!  Thank you!

Now off to pack to change rooms.  We are on the same deck but change sides.

Welcome to Seward. I guess I should go outside our B&B and see if I can see the ship. Looked like you’ve had a beautiful cruise so far. Hoping it isn’t as rainy as the forecast shows for this next week and that we get to see Hubbard.

I’ll finish posting photos from the Best of Sitka tour a bit later.

We are currently in Juneau where it is about 51 degrees F/10 degrees C and overcast. We have been here before so ours plans are to walk around the city.

We slept really well and had a nice breakfast followed by getting a laundry bag filled and then Tri-bond trivia (we won with 15 correct answer) and general trivia (we lost with 9 correct answers -winner had 12 correct answers).

Here are photos from the sunset last night at 10:30pm.

I’ve been to Alaska 12 times on NCL.  Here are some packing suggestions:

    1.  Dress in layers: t-shirt, fleece, waterproof outer layer

    2. have waterproof, comfortable footwear

    3. Sunglasses

    4. sunscreen

    5. bathing suit and flip flops for the pool/hot tub/spa

    3. avoid jeans which are heavy to pack and cold when wet. Purchase some outdoorsy, water resistant pants. I wear Lululemon Align pants most days and pack 3 pairs.

    5. Yes, the theatre and dining rooms can be cold. Pack a sweater, cardigan, hoody or shawl

    6. take some warm socks

    7. I always pack a waterproof foldable rain poncho that is in my shore bag at all times

    8. even on sunny days glacier viewings are cold. Pack a toque, scarf and mittens

    9. if you’re using your phone as a camera, consider purchasing a waterproof pouch for your phone that has a neck strap. This is good for small boat excursions and rainy days

    10. have a really comfy pair of shoes for the cruise ship. Choose comfort over style. NCL is casual.

    11. If you forget anything, the Tongass Trading Company in Ketchikan has an upstairs and this is a great place to pick up outdoor gear and clothing.

Thank you so much! Those are such great suggestions.
