  1. Received email from P&O tonight saying that my balance is due in the next 2 days - it is not due until Feb 2nd. Phoned them and it is a computer glitch and lots of customers have been sent them in error - so you can ignore it if you get one.

Thanks for this. My cruise is in July 2016. Having not booked with P and O before I did panic for a bit. i thought this is not how Norwegian and RC do it!

  2. Hi

We have the same next year as we will be getting off Harmony and getting on Epic. Granted we only have a few hours in between. We intend to try for the very last minute to get off Harmony and then walk across to Epic's terminal and then just sit it out until we can board as soon as possible.

I've researched Barcelona port and found that there is Wifi and a cafe (somewhere).

We did consider using the time to go and explore Barcelona and leave our bags.

In doing so we did find a company at the port who will keep your baggage but they charge 10 euro per bag. The alternative is to get a taxi to Placa de Catalunya in the centre of the city where there are storage lockers and then go back and collect them later. locker barcelona dot com.

Also google hasta vueloThere are also storage lockers at Sants train station. Google baggage storage in Barcelona and you will find options.

We did this last Summer. Got off Liberty and on to Epic. We left it to the last minute to get off Liberty which was around 9am. We sat in that terminal until they asked us to leave(!) at around 9:15. We slowly walked over to Epic and were able to give our cases to the porters immediately. Then security let us into the terminal, but were told to sit down and wait. We only waited about an hour before they checked us in, and they we had to wait for our number to be called to board. We had planned to go into the city but decided after a leisurely breakfast on Liberty that we didn't need the hassle. The staff at the Epic terminal were excellent and free drinks were available all that time. Very easy.

  3. Is it worth the $22? I saw on my cruise planner where I could book it in advance, does it fill up quickly? I craft like a 1st grader, so I'd hate to see the mess I'd make of the cupcake but seriously considering booking this!!

We did this on Liberty last Summer. The class took place on the sea day - the final full day of the cruise. We booked it online prior to the cruise. By that day, all the courses were fully booked, with plenty of people enquiring but being turned away. We really enjoyed it - I had no prior skills but found it straightforward and the class was made up of people with mixed skills. Someone even ran their own cake decorating business and they still enjoyed it. We made the puppy dog shown above.

On the issue of value - it is expensive, but it was fun, it was an event to look forward to and we enjoyed the company of the other ladies on the course so it was well worth it for us.

  4. To both of you, sounds like fun! Two different ships is called a "side-to-side". A true B2B is on the same ship. :)

I didn't know that this was called a side to side. In that case we did a side to side this Summer in Barcelona. We got off Liberty at Terminal B and on to NCL Epic at Terminal A. It was easy in Barcelona as the Terminals are very close and there are crossing lines marking out a walking route. Our only issue was leaving Liberty at the last possible moment (kicked out of the terminal at 9:30) and not booking in at Epic until about 11:00. We could have paid to stay on Liberty til later, but chose not to.

  5. Hi everyone,

Sorry to be asking yet another drink package question but I can't seem to find the answer.

We are sailing next year on Explorer from the UK and are residents in the UK.

Looking at the drinks packages being priced in $$, would we save some money (I know it wouldn't be much) by buying our drink packages on board and then settling our accounts in cash$$, and is this even possible?

Hope I don't sound thick, just trying to get my head around it all.

    Thanks for any help.

We went on Liberty a fortnight ago. We pre-paid online for Royal Replenish package. I didn't really do the Maths regarding savings but we did get US dollars from Thomas Cook in order to pay all on onboard expenses. Therefore we ended the week with no charges on our credit card. I don't think we saved any money but it was all very convenient.

  6. 2 Questions:

    2. In Palma it says there is a shuttle service for $12/person. Is there a map of all the stops that the shuttle will stop off?

    TIA!!

Last year, when we used the Palma shuttle, there was one drop off and pick up point, on the harbour side in front of the cathedral.
