we love oceania breakfasts in mdr and of course the specialty rests but you are paying almost 3x the rates of celeb/princ/hal/msc. our fav dark horse is disney we have taken 14dy and several 7day cruises with them and the food was flawless and delicious but i think its their staff that add the special touches in the dining venues even at the buffet great service and care.. ocenia also but it really depends on what part of the world you are sailing. i prefer asia with oceania...

FRESH halibut fish and chips at cafe at icy straits port was the best !! enuff for 3people so 2 of us had to eat it all..watching whales from the shore ALL day. our new fav port in alaska.

A athens to dubai great ports, we booked our own tours, armed guards 5 days on suez to oman.loved dubai. hard to get over it was 15 hrs nonstop to washdc then another 5.5 to sfo. long

now someone said A ports were the same[ it only means you travel ALOT]... if you want dif ports with tours included in med/europe try Voyages to Antiquity one ship Aegean odessey, all inclusive with lectures every night. we were on it last july portugal /spain/montecarlo/france/ italy. loved the tours,ALSO OUR 3RD TRIP WITH THEM.

so many choices with dif cruise lines. we took kionigdam 3rd ignaural cruise last yr, unimpressed but the theater was smashing for a hal ship! i wish hal would stay smaller 1200-1800pax. oh well. we love cruising going on A feb 9 12dy to baja mexico right in the heart of cartels .mm

one question . since ncl bot oceania last yr do they still have baby lamp chops for breakfast in the dining room? inquiring minds want to know

can we go up and use just the dry sauna like on hal or princess for free?

I know on ncl they are included in spa package I read it here.

The spa passes were $99 on my recent 5 day Pearl cruise. I purchased then before hand online but I believe they can also be purchased on the ship as well. There are a limited number of passes sold, I heard once only 100.

 

The past gives you access to the thermal suite located inside the spa. On the Pearl, The women's only area includes a sauna, steam room, one person whirlpool, showers, plunge pool and lounge chair looking out towards the sea. The coed area has a large pool, a larger whirlpool and tile lounges that heat up, as well as regular lounges that also overlook the sea.

 

For me it was worth the money, to be able to use the hot tubs without crowds. It is a very peaceful place to relax.

Thank you for restarting a new thread. The old was was too long and out dated.

 

The thread evolved from "Carnival Secrets" to alos include tips and ideas from seasoned cruisers. I found those actually more helpful than the "Carnival Secrets"

 

Heres one i started doing on my last cruise. With Digital cameras, we all end up taking hundreds of pictures. My problem was that after the cruise when I got home, I would go through my pics and have a hard time remembering where a pic was taken, when, and what it was!

 

So now each morning, before I leave the cabin, I take a picture of the front page of the Fun Times. It has the date and port of call on it. I now know that every pic taken after that one is in sucn and such port and taken on such and such date. Makes organizing our photo albums much easier.

we sure wish you were going too. we would love to hear about your experiences on the smaller ships. we love them . we love all cruises.

we just recently came off athens to rome on aegean odessey on their 2nd ignaural cruise. it was wonderful excellent guides and tours and the food was very gourmet towards calif- med flavors and all inclusive but i have to admit the older passengers certainly love to criticize every litttle thing,instead of just enjoying the cruise. this was the british as well as american seniors.

i think on the eurodam if we get seated with complainers we will just move away from them!! cruise on!!~KC
