  1. Since this is such an important event, will he know in advance if he will be allowed the time or is this something they could deny him at the last minute? If he cannot get the time off, what are your backup plans for the wedding and honeymoon? (I am assuming you will still proceed with the wedding even if he has to go back to work the next day).

I ask all this because insurance for this reason may or may not not be your best recourse. If you have a defined lead time before the wedding of more than a couple of months, then you likely will be able to cancel with minimal penalty, if any. And if his work could cancel as late as the day before the wedding, then I would gently suggest that you both might want to re-think the honeymoon to a time when you can more reliably plan in advance. I cannot imagine the disappointment of a last minute cancellation; how do the two of you feel about dealing with that during your wedding festivities?

He's still in the academy phase so he doesn't have a schedule yet. The academy ends next month so we're hoping he will have a better idea then if he will be able to take the time. He did tell them he was getting married and had the honeymoon planned but that doesn't mean they will approve the time.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

  2. Hello

My fiancé really wants to do something in Belize. I get motion sickness pretty easily and all the excursions seem a fair distance away. Is there anything that's relatively close? The ruins are about an hour or more and the snorkeling tours say about 30-40 mins on a boat. I might be able to handle the boat but I'm not sure lol

    Thanks!

  3. Ummmm, I live in Florida, and I don't wear Sandals to restaurants, and my wife does not either. I also, unless it's McDonalds or some fast food joint, will not wear shorts at a restaurant either. My boys, who are now young man, now, also, will not wear sandals, or flip flops in a restaurant, nor do they wear shorts. They are both Florida kids. Most of the adults I work with, or are around, will do the same. So my point is, that when going to McDonalds, or a fast food joint, it is acceptable to wear beach wear, shorts, t-shirts, and footwear that has only a sole on it, with straps and Carnival has the same rules.

Florida has nothing to do with dressing decent. The MDR is not a place to wear whatever you want, but as I pointed out, you will only find a question like this on a Carnival board. Thus the similarity between McDonald and Carnival.

I have been on Carnival ships, as well as others, and I have been amazed at what some people wear on a Carnival ship. Yes, it happens on other cruise lines, but the main difference is the huge percentage on a Carnival Ship, that was never taught the right time, and wrong time to wear certain items.

I just cruised on Disney Cruise line in March and wore flip flops to the dining room. They weren't the cheap plasticy ones but were still flip flops. I wore them with black skinny pants and I thought I looked cute :)

  4. I'm 34 no kids and would absolutely choose Disney. There are plenty of adult areas and it's not all screaming kids the whole time. I've been on 3 disney cruises and loved each one. Castaway Cay is amazing especially the adult side. I like Carnival too don't get me wrong; I'm booked on the Valor next may.

  5. I have a few food allergies. I told my waiter on the first night and from then on he made very sure every night my food was safe for me. He would even let me see the next nights menu so I could order ahead and make sure I didnt have anything I am allergic too.

They were awesome about it!! They also didnt act like it was a hassle at all!

The last thing I wanted was to have a hives outbreak or bust out my epi pen on my honeymoon! They really put my mind at ease. I am sure they will take great care of your nephew as well.

I had the same experience back in March. I pre-ordered my meals the night before and everynight I was given a surpise dessert that was gluten free. They were very nice and it never seemed to be an issue :)

  6. I'm researching for our cruise next year and was looking at the Glory Tours website and saw that for $25 a person we can get a shuttle to Carlisle Bay and back to port, beach chair and umbrella and a free drink. Is this something I can do cheaper on my own? Do they hold chairs for us? Thanks for your help!!
