We are down to the last two weeks before we leave for our cruise. This should be a time of pre cruise anticipation and excitement. Normally, I would have taken out the suitcases and started going through my summer clothes, buying a few more pieces and started packing. But this whole coronavirus stress has put a damper on our vacation experience.
I am looking forward to hopefully getting 100% of my money back as I don't like being locked into an agreement with restrictions. RCL must know that the majority of us do intend on cruising again with them so they are not going to lose us customers.

We are planning on driving down to Florida. We have arranged parking for our car. If there were a quarantine for 2 weeks on the ship, would we be released to drive ourselves back home?

Reading all of this and not liking it one bit. I considered cancelling and still giving the cruise line my business by booking for next year because we really want to go, if not this year then next year, but not with all of these restrictions and price increases. It is a huge turn off.

Looking forward to less crowds if about 25% or so of the people cancel.

Buffets will never go away. It saves the cruiseline money by having less employees serving, large quantities of people can be fed in a short amount of time, and people like buffets for the variety and convenience.

Just wanted to say that you two have more risk catching COVID 19 on the subway than on a cruise. At least on a cruise, people are washing their hands with sanitizer several times a day.
I hate it when friends or family flake out on plans. It sucks.

Can anyone answer this? Is the amount you bid on top of the price you paid for your current room? So if you paid $3,500 for your balcony and you bid $300 for the JS, the total would be $3,500 plus $600?
Thanks

They are usually not needed. Some people get colder than others. There could be a draft in the theater. Nights in January and February may not be as warm. Just bring one light long sleeve just in case.

If this is your first cruise, you may feel the motion a little bit more for the first few days and then your body gets used to it because you know what to expect.

Ask a crew member for help. They should be able to get a chair for him. I don't think they would force the elderly and people with disabilities to stand for long periods.

How many of us are going to go without the drink package if we can't get a good deal? Has anyone tried bringing their own low calorie mixer from home and a mug. Purchase double shots only? If so, how has it worked out for you?

If you don't drink a lot of soda, but like to have it once in a while with a burger or slice of pizza, you can bring up to 12 500ml bottles or cans of your own beverage onboard.

I am thinking about purchasing the 375ml bottle of vodka and/or rum with cokes. It is showing up in the planner. My questions are, when does it get delivered to our stateroom? Also it states it is for Texas sailings, but my sailing is out of Florida and it shows up when I put my sailing date and ship. Is it for all sailings?
Thanks in advance

I could never do it. I am nervous enough flying in the evening before from Canada in April. I have been checking the weather and my flight status frequently. Plan B is to hop into the car and drive 30 hours straight.

The OP is a platinum cruiser who should know better than to accept any cabin even if it was free. Newbies make this mistake every day and get no compensation. We all learn. I learned through reading this site, others had it the hard way. Still I would love a free cruise.

Following you here and also on marine traffic. Keep the ship in good shape for us. I will be leaving old man winter, the great white north, land of ice and snow behind on Friday. Canadian in Southern Ontario here. Woo hoo. Thanks for your review.

I have read some give bad reviews on specialty restaurants where they didn't feel they got a meal that was worth the extra money. I have also read really great reviews on the main dining (free) options.
Just being on the ship, being served, and not having to cook and clean is a treat in itself. I wonder though if the main dining room food does get old after a while.
Which specialty restaurants are worth the extra $$$?

Fishlips. Great atmosphere and food.

Can anyone recommend the best Hop on Hop off tour buses in Miami. I understand there are 3 different companies. Which one is the best and why? Which one should I avoid?
Thanks

Make sure you get one that gives you OBC and doesn't charge you cancellation fees.
I think you will have to ask around to find a good one or experiment with a few until you find the right one.

Has anyone seen Vocal Overdrive on Escape yet? If so, I would like to see a review. I am leaving on April 9th and was really looking forward to Million Dollar Quartet based on reviews.:(
I would like to have a good idea ahead of time whether I should book it or not, or whether I would actually enjoy it.
Thanks in advance

I am relieved that RCC did this. We were supposed to leave in 2 weeks and this whole situation of being in limbo has been stressful. Now we can finally cancel our hotels and boarding for our cat. We really wanted to go on this cruise and feel sad about it, but at the same time we can finally move on and look forward to another cruise when this all blows over.
