  1. Exactly!  But when you are faced with getting a test between Christmas & New Year what do you do?  Chemist shops & testing companies, closed Monday/Tuesday,  so only Wednesday to get it done. No worries, appointments cancelled and refunds offered.  My point was why five week delay between Barbados announcement and P&O notification to customers.  Disappointing!  We don't all spend time checking HM Gov website, we rely on cruise company to tell us!!

  2. We booked our Covid Tests for our New Year  B230 cruise, on  Friday 29.09.22   This was very difficult as most chemist shops are closed, between Christmas & New Year. but luckily found one four miles away for Wednesday 28.12.22    Four people at £69 each.  I have received the same email as others and on checking HM Gov website see that these were stopped on 22.9.22 . a week before I spent hours trying to find somewhere to do it.   Why the delay P&O in notifying customers, 5 weeks after the event.

  3. We are on Silhouette at the end of September from Southampton and booked the Elevate package some months ago.  I am now finding it extremely difficult to discover what the package now actually contains. eg drinks, OBC, excursions etc.  I have searched the Celebrity website in vain.  Can anyone help?

    Thank you for your email. I can confirm below the measures we have in place and further clarify;

    • All guests must show proof of a negative lateral flow test within 24 hours of travelling.
    • Guests must wear a face mask at all times while on board the coach
    • The coach will be operated at a limited capacity.

With these measures in place, in the unlikely event that somebody does test positive at Southampton, then the rest of the coach will not be affected.

I think that clearly puts this concern to bed!!!

We've just had an e mail from intercruises stating that if anybody tests positive at the pier the whole coach will be denied boarding!!! This in total contradiction to the information we received upon telephoning them on Friday when it was confirmed that this was not now happening and had not been since October. The coach is supposedly operating at 35% capacity meaning the  social distancing can be met and were informed that should anybody test positive only "close contacts" would be denied boarding not the whole coach  , not sure what to believe now but as its  a five and a half hour car journey ,plus stops just wondering if we made the right decision.

Since the start of covid no two people seem able to coordinate the information that enables people to make an informed decision, has it affected their brains that much?😡

  6. I can't understand why future passengers are not made aware now of changes planned by P & O.  There is a full review on those being done on Aurora, so why not Brittania.  We are on the transatlantic on 25th October and being mid-ship, and potentially affected,  would welcome any information.  It won't alter our plans, just make it more reassuring.   Please P & O!!

  7. I am just back from cruising on the Silhouette in the Adriatic. This cruise had the Best ship and the Best crew we have experienced in the Celebrity fleet. We have sailed 8 times with Celebrity and have enjoyed them all. Everyone's expectations are different. We had anytime dining which allowed us to move our schedule around if there was something we wanted to see/do at night. We threw in some specialty restaurants and had 5 star service and food. The MDR was as good as always. Everyone around us kept commenting how good it was. Most nights we enjoyed new friends and each other while watching sunsets, having cocktails or listening to some great guitar playing at the Sunset Bar. Cruising to us is about relaxing and reconnecting with what is important in life. For most everyone scheduled or planning a trip on the Silhouette, you will not be disappointed. For those that were disappointed, hopefully your next cruise will bring you the joy that only cruising can do.

We too are just back from the same cruise and can verify everything said above. Of 15 cruises we have been on, this was the best. The staff and food are the best at sea. Minor issues with drinks being posted to Stateroom Account when we were on Premium Drinks package, but soon sorted by Guest relations. Far too many negative comments on these forums. Get a life and stop moaning and enjoy the experience.

  8. SHIP: Silhouette

    CABIN #: 2101

    DECK #: 12

    CLASS: C2

    AREA: Aft/midship

    BED NEAR: centre of stateroom

    QUIET?: Extremely

    BALCONY VIEW: Excellent

    BALCONY SIZE: Smaller than expected

    WIND A PROBLEM?: None whatever

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: Non-existent

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Too many criticisms on here. Get a life please! Minor issues become crises - just enjoy it!! Your at sea after all. Minor issue of spurious entries on Stateroom account. Sorted by Guest relations but frustrating. The stateroom is in an ideal location for everything. Very quiet, soundproofing excellent. Premium Drinks package great value. Staff are the best at sea and so friendly. Plain advice : stop posting and start cruising!
