  1. You won't have to worry about any of this, Allure uses the old Seapass cards handed out at the pier terminal. You can ignore the boarding time issue.

    Thank you

Your photo is no longer printed on RCI regular or non-RFID card if that's what you are thinking of. It's stored electronically as a digital print accessible when your Sea Pass card's bar code is read or RFID card is scanned. You can upload your photo yourself or have it taken by the agent at the check in like is being done for non-RFID ships.

Also your photo shows up when your card is scanned for purchases so that should prevent other from using a stolen card.

  2. I noticed people mentioned boarding time. We have only crusie on RC smaller ships. We are crusing on Allure in Jan. We have never had a boarding time. Is this something only for the larger ship. Very concerned about sea pass being on the doors. Couldn't anyone take them and charge items. What are the waist bands?

    Thank you.

  3. We are crusing out of Boston in Oct 2016 with Royal Caribbean. Our return flight isn't till 900pm. I was wondering if there is something we could do with our luggage so we didn't have to sit in the airport for 9 hours and could go site seeing instead. Our original thought was we could have it checked with RC Valet baggage service, but I guess they don't off the service in Boston. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  4. Wow, I don't know what to say.

Money not really being the issue, I just thought it would be kind of hectic to get a room check in and out get to the port later to wait in-line again. I very much appreciate everyone advise, and will way the pro's and con's.

(until I read this post I didn't know you could rent a room for a short time, but I guess they wouldn't care they still get the same amount of money) :)

BlueHerons I didn't take any offense to you comment just a little shock, You do have great points.

Like I stated earlier I really appreciate everyone advise, and this is one of the great things about this site is all the different views. Thank you

  5. If you take an overnight flight, when u arrive, me thinks that you may be tired---you don't say from where you are flying from...That being said, I don't know what you want to do ----there's not a lot around the airport--there's never a lot around an airport.

Also, probably, you will have your luggage by 6 or 6:30/6:45 am possibly the latest. Depending on what day (weekday? weekend?) It may take at least an hour to get to POM. Are you arranging for your own shuttle or the ship's? If it's the ship's, you will have to wait until everyone on that plane has boarded the shuttle, which can take a long time...Or are you booking your own? So, if all goes as planned, you may get to the POM at 8-8:30 if you book on your own..... My guess is that RC will allow you to board at about 11am, which, in that case, as you said, you will catch the buffet and a deck chair and take a nap.....Hope this helps.....

We are flying in from Denver Co. we leave at midnight mountain time and get in at 5:25 am eastern time on a Monday. It's about a 3 1/2 hour flight. I was wondering if there was some place in the airport to take it easy and get some breakfast. There is four of us so I think it would cheaper to take a shuttle. I don't mind getting to the port early but I wouldn't want to wait outside until they open. Thank you for your advise.

  6. We had to make some crazy flight plans to work in a family wedding. We are taking a overnight flight and arrive at Ft Lauderdale at 5:30am on 8/25/2014, not sure what is the best plan when we arrive.

Wondering if it is best to wait at the airport till later to catch a shuttle to POM or is there other stuff you can do around the airport to kill time. I don't think shuttles run that early anyway and what would be do once we got to the port that early.

We are cruising on Royal Caribbean. Does anyone know how early you can get into the port terminal, it would be nice to be one of the first to board the ship. By that time we will just want to find a deck chair and caught a nap. :D Thanks for you help

Cruising is so much easier when you can fly in the night before :)

  7. Explorer to NewEngland/Canada for the 2nd time, 3rd time on Explorer. Explorer is the only ship we have sailed on more than once. It sails from driving distance. Itinerary is not new either, but only 1 repeated port. Different ship and different itinerary help keep things fresh.

We did the New England/Canada Cruise on the Brilliance of the Sea . :)and loved every minute of it. We have a three other cruising before I can plan another New England/Canada trip but it will happen :)
