  1. We were there in Sept. Google Bobs Limo. You can either do a private limo or a shuttle. We did the shuttle because it was less expensive and they take you in a van with about 6 to 8 people. We went from our Rome hotel to port for around $60 for both of us. You could take the train but I heard you have to haul your luggage a distance and stairs are involved. That doesn't sound fun to me.

  2. I just booked the excursion to St. John through Princess. It came to $129. The excursion leaves from port, so no taxi to Red Hook. It is worth the est. $4 more for the peace of mind of making the ship. I also understand you do a lot of running around getting taxis and drive time. I would rather spend my time on the island more productively.

  3. Why do you believe that just because some people disagree with anything, we are arguing about nothing? Do you honestly believe that we must all agree with anything and everything that Princess does? Sorry, that is not the way it happens. Those who feel that the Happy Hours are OK, great, participate. For those of us who would like to see them earlier, then that is our opinion and we may voice it.

That is the purpose of this forum. Discuss and cuss things and express our opinions.

For the Princess 'Cheerleaders' who think everything is so great and no one can express their opinions if it does not agree with yours - please let us voice our opinions. Thank you!

Remember, you pay for your cruise and we pay for ours. LOL

Opinions is one thing but you seem like you just enjoy "stirring the pot". It just seemed like a bunch of pointless banter to me. I apologize if I'm wrong, just my opinion. I'm out, I don't want to further take this off topic.

  4. OMG! This bantering has gotten ridiculous. They hold the BOGO $1 at the times they do to generate business at those times. Why would they have it at 8 or 9 if they are selling plenty of cocktail's at that time? They also would like to fill the club at that time to get a late night vibe going so that people will stay and party into the night. Therefore spend more money. It's all about the business. Of course we would all like it to be earlier or longer. But what they are offering is what they are offering. What's the point of bantering back and forth about it? It is what it is! Appreciate it. You get nada on the other cruise lines if your not a frequent flyer.

  5. Kinda agree with this one. We did a New Years cruise a few years back, and it wasn't so much the number of kids that I found less appealing, but the number of big groups/families that stuck to themselves or would monopolize a bar or area by the pool. They would tend to act like they were the only ones in the place and I did feel steamrolled a few times. Not the friendly crowd out of Galveston I was used to. Same ship, same port I'd been on multiple times, but far different, less social crowd.

We decided after that one that we'd much rather go on a cruise in early December and another in maybe February, and still not pay as much as we did for a single Holiday Cruise. I know many love them, but for my taste, if holiday cruises were all that was available to me, I would not cruise at all.

This was experience on a NYE cruise last year. There were large groups traveling in packs and taking areas over. Their kids and teens running amok and no one paying attention or caring. The adults would take over bars and proceed to get hammered. There were also groups of small children taking over the dance floor and jumped off the stage over and over again in the atrium during adult cocktail hour and after dinner. These children were encouraged by the parents and grandparents who thought their little darlings would be appreciated by everyone else. I've never had such rudeness on any cruise I've ever been on. Never again.

  6. We just got back from Rhapsody. I would go Celebrity. We had a good cruise because of the ports but the food and entertainment was not great on Rhapsody. The ship is also a little warn out. If those things do not matter and you chose Rhapsody you will still have fun but don't have high expectations.

I also agree with everyone else. Don't go in August. We were in Rome September 20 To 25th and cruised 25th to 4th and the weather was perfect and the crowds were small.

  7. It's the sunscreen not hand sanitizer. Spray-on is the worst on finger nail polish. Some lotion types can gunk it up too. On one cruise, before I figured it out, my toe nails polish was a gunky mess then the light bulb came on. I never had that problem again. I would recommend a gel polish manicure for your next trip. It looks great the entire trip.

  8. I've had them twice. One of the times I had a couple of fills. I would not do it again. It takes a long time and lots of money to have them done properly. Their heavy and inter fear with normal eye functions. And I was always fiddling with them. There is no easy way to remove them no matter what anyone says. And when they do come off they take lashes with them. It took me 3 months to get my lashes back. So in my opinion, no way!

  9. I'm booked on Rhapsody for Sept. 25th 8 night cruise in a JS aft corner for $3700 for both my husband and me. I booked this on July on the BOGOHO. I think this is a great price. It seems like the prices are all over the place. But $5900 to $12,000, that's insane.

  10. Personally, I would have preferred that the story was told in one instalment.

Then, perhaps other people would post sensible questions arising from the story, which the OP could then answer.

As it is, we have a few instalments of the story, interspersed with what seems like thousands of silly comments.

However… that's just my preference. It's the OP's story. It's the OP's thread. It's up to the OP to tell the story the way he wants to. Let's cut him some slack, folks.

I agree. I would have preferred one installment then questions. I'm starting to get very frustrated with this entire thing. I understand the installments during the work week but he's had all day yesterday and this morning to finish this up! I keep checking back and nothing but everyone but the OP making comment. I'm beginning to wonder what's actually going on here. Can we please wrap this up OP?
