If you look at this picture (1 row down and 3 to the right) you can plainly see that all of these balconies have dividers. I am booked in 10279 and had the same concern but I see now that it is just an error on the deck plan drawing. No neighbors to contend with! Amen!

  3. I just upgraded from a C3 to A1 in 1133. We've never had an aft balcony and are really looking forward to it with some trepidation. My husband can get queasy but I'm hoping that a seaband, Bonine, and calm Southern Caribbean seas should prevent any issues. We sail on Summit 11/19/2016 and will post a review of this cabin post-cruise.

  4. I also have issues with binging. I have learned to control it to a certain point. I now keep really low calorie items (sugar free popsicles or fresh veggies) and will try to just eat those type of items when I am having an episode. Happy to say I have lost 70 lbs & have about 40 more to go. :)

Way to go!!! I need to get help with this as I have tried and failed on my own more times than I can count.

  5. Don't use your hypothyroid as an excuse. I've been on 50 mcg levothyroxine for 15 years and have learned over the years to rethink the way I eat and just get moving. You can't "diet to lose weight." You need to make your mind up to a permanent lifestyle change which includes healthy eating and increased daily activity. I alternate days with strength training at the gym and 4-mile brisk walks outdoors when the weather cooperates (or same distance on an incline treadmill plus rowing machine). You CAN do it if you make up your mind to do so. I KNOW.

I have only been on Synthroid since January. I thought that alone would help but you're right...the pill didn't fix what was broken; my daily habits. I want to change but have yet to do so.

  6. On our last cruise on the Equinox this past March in the Caribbean' date=' I am happy to say that the majority of folks still dressed up. Not so many tuxes and gowns, but lots of suits, jackets and ties, and ladies in cocktail and maxi-dresses, with lots of bling. There were also a small number who dressed down, but tastefully.[/quote']

That is good to know. I will be coming off a B2B on Adventure of the Seas to sail on Summit and will have formal wear with me. I see no issue with making things a little more relaxed however, I really don't like being dressed to the nines yet sitting next to someone who has made no effort to dress for dinner. I have begun to accept that as cruise-norm and am trying not to allow it to interfere with my enjoyment.

  7. Do JS's even get double points anymore? It seems that info has vanished off the RCI website. If not then the JS is a total wast of $. I paid $1855/pp for a JS on Oasis over Thanksgving and the balcony is only $870/pp. I feel as though I've been duped. If I don't get the points then I don't see what I am spending an extra $2k for. To upgrade to a GS is an additional $3500 and I am not going to pay that on principal.

  8. Just off the Oasis. Had JS 7636. PERFECT location!

re: CK for JS passengers - we received a letter in our cabin - could have ONE dinner in the CK as JS residents.

Did you get double points for your JS?

I am booked on Oasis in a JS for Thanksgiving and am curious if they still do double points for JS. I can't find it on their site anywhere now. I paid $1855/pp for the JS and the balcony is only $870/pp. I'm starting to regret my decision.

  9. Holy Cow I cow! $295.75 for an over the water cabana now.

Where do you see the price listed? Have you already been given an opportunity to book one? I am cruising on Oasis for Thanksgiving and reached out to the concierge. They told me to wait for the email but am reluctant because another cruiser said they were booked by the time the email went out.

  10. DHADEN, I see that you had a grand suite on this trip. Do they have reserved gold card seating for the shows on oasis? What about breakfast and lunch in chops or portofino as apposed to the windjammer for suite guests?

If I have a gold card will I have to wait in the same lines as non-suite guests? I'm trying to decide if the extra money for the suite is worth it since I've historically always had a balcony room. I'm currently booked on oasis in a JS for thanksgiving and am considering upgrading to a GS. Thanks!

  11. [SIZE="4"]I'm taking my hubby on Oasis for his birthday and have booked a JS. We have always had balconies in the past so this was a big leap financially. I now see that the JS category doesn't get any of the perks that full suites do, just the extra point per night. When do you suggest I try to upgrade to a GS? It's a Thanksgiving cruise so I'm not sure if that hurts or helps me. I am willing to pay more.
