Yes I think so and thank heavens for that.  Meanwhile, two Silversea ships - Explorer and Shadow - are in nightmarish situations, both having had either passengers or crew being diagnosed with Covid-19. For several days the Explorer has been moored in Chile near Castro and the Shadow is in Recife, Brazil.

Yes, I have a friend right now on the Silver Shadow and the ship is currently in Recife. She has no idea when she will be off the ship. Such drama...

  2. Dear Westmont:

No, Sojourn cannot land anywhere in Australia, Foreign cruise liners will also be banned from docking in Australia for 30 days. Also, Australia's prime minister has ordered a 14-day self-isolation for anyone arriving in the country to try to halt the spread of the coronavirus.

Where is the Sojourn going to land next?

I’ve suggested to the Seabourn sales agent on board they should have a reunion cruise for 2022 that hopefully takes us from at least the Seychelles to Singapore or Sydney, not sure this baby is going to make it to San Francisco.

four more sea days to go, tour schedules just went out , all sold out within 30 minutes

    Dear Westmount:

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are booked on the Sojourn from Perth to Sydney. Do you think Sojourn will ever make it to Perth? We are afraid our Perth to Sydney segment may get cancelled. Please let me know.

We are probably setting a Seabourn record, as I doubt there has been a Seabourn cruise that has had 15 days in a row without getting off the ship. The good news is we all feel safer out here than on land, with only five  more days to go before we kiss the ground in Broome.
Since we’ve been going in the same straight line for the past five days, I wake up to the same  scene at 615 am from my room and visit the other side at 615 pm for the sunset.
tonight, there was a sock hop, with everyone dressed like James Dean with burger, fries and shakes for dinner. It seems everyone showed up for life’s simple things.
given what’s going on around the world, getting off might be harder than staying at sea.

Which port was the last port that you were able to get off? Was that in Victoria, Mahe, Seychelles? 15 consecutive days at sea is a long time, longer than what most people on other cruise lines usually go on! Are you sure you will be able to land in Broome and not get turned away?

So the 2nd leg is still open? I have seen a lot of people asking. Those on b2b seem to suggest the letter applied to both but those on 2nd leg didn’t get a letter?

According to Seabourn, Dubai to Athens is currently "in review". Dubai is not accepting any cruise ships now. I think Dubai to Athens segment may get cancelled.

I didnt say Seabourn deliberately screwed us but they did not handle this properly. We have been in Singapore for three days and it is very safe here. I know someone on Ovation now that boarded Feb 1 from HKG and doing back to back cruise meeting up with us tomorrow. I was just texting her about what to see in Singapore at 12noon local time. She had just received their through sticker on their cabin card. One hour later, they were informed by the Captain the cruise is cancelled. This last minute decision is what I have issue with. The situation did not change in one hour.

Seabourn had no choice but to cancel, they don't want to put you in danger.

  7. David E Greene was the BEST cruise director Seabourn has ever seen, I love his one man show - Nat King Cole. And I love when he came out in Drag in Mama Mia and doing the ABBA medley. He made everyone feel at home with Seabourn. We sailed with him on the Pride and Legend. We missed him so much.... :( The current cruise directors on Seabourn are good but nothing compared to David. R.I.P.

  8. It was the service that was bad that just wreaked the cruise. Other passengers also complained to the front desk. The port of calls were quite good. Celebrity - are you reading this? Please improve your service on Millenium!

We were on the Millenium several times from 2011 through 2012 with no problems and service then were great. I am sad to see it go downhill.

Was the service the only reason why you consider this such a bad experience? Our problem with the Millenium last year on the same itinerary, was not the service. We did not like that it made the impression of being a tired ship going home with the last strenght. We noticed this on the food and on the production shows. I think this is a very hard itinerary for Celebrity and at this route they do not manage to meet the standards we are used to.
  9. Yes, I did complain to the maitre de of Metropolitan restaurant but the same problem happened the next day. We did complain to Blu and they did improve the next day. I am not sure why Celebrity Millenium is so bad compared to the other Celebrity Cruises. We are Elite on Celebrity and almost coming to Elite Plus. We will still cruise on Celebrity Cruises, just not the Millenium.

German, did anyone speak to the maitre de or hotel director or staff director? If not, the poor experience is on you. If you did complain AT THE ONSET OF THE PROBLEM, then shame on Celebrity.

I can't help but note that you prior sailing history includes Seaborn and AWA. In fairness, those experiences cannot be compared to Celebrity.

Sorry you did not enjoy yourself. We have been on a couple of cruises that were unsatisfactory in certain ways (usually food related), but we just found work arounds and enjoyed other things. And, generally, we do not return to those cruiselines.

  10. We did experience some homophobia on Celebrity Millenium from some staff members and it wasn't pleasant. We felt we have gotten the short end of the stick. Well, we paid and tipped accordingly with our gay dollars. Please saty away from Celebrity Millenium, the rest of the Celebrity ships are great - no problem.

Hi all, we're a gay couple (one is Aussie, one German, both in our 30ies) and will go on our first cruise ever on RCI's Allure of the Seas in September. I've seen some reports here and there about single staff members who act discriminating or outright homophobe towards gay couples- is this something we need to fear?

It has happened only once or twice since we've been together that we had to have discussions in a hotel about our beds being together and we travel a lot so the last place I want to experience something like this is on our long awaited first every cruise. We've already been told that Jamaica will be the perfect port to stay on the ship (which is probably quite a nice thing to do anyway ;)) but what about staff from a country like this? I am pretty confident that we can tell the occasional homophobe guest where to go in case they can't stand seeing me applying sunscreen to my partner's back but if we get into trouble with any of the staff- what would be the best place to complain, I'm sure RCI wouldn't endorse any such behavior?

Any tips or suggestions very much appreciated. And no- we don't have sex in public. But yes- I think it is our very right to hold hands in public even if some of the more conservative-minded fellow cruisers might have an issue with that.

  11. We were on Celebrity Millennium going back-to-back from Alaska and Transpacific. The service in the Metropolitan restaurant was so horrible that 4 out if 10 guests on our table got up and left after the appetizer, we waited for 45 minutes and the still weren't served the entree for lunch, this happened 3 times during the Alaska Cruise and 5 times during the Transpacific cruise. Celebrity - are you reading this? Get your act together!

Also, when we were the Blu, even service was slow 4 days out of 14 days. This is unusual as The other ships such as Solstice and Silhouette have impeccable service. They must have the worst staff sent to Millennium. I almost wanted to withdraw all my tips but I didn't, I should have! We are elite members and had to experience such sloppy service. Also, the staff (cruise director) on Millennium weren't as good as the other Celebrity ships. What is going on with Celebrity Millennium? Did you have a bad experience on Celebrity Millennium on a recent cruise? Please let us know here.

  12. Hi Cruises and Celebrity Cruise:

I have to say this cruise was the WORST Celebrity Cruise I have ever sailed on. And I have sailed Celebrity Milllenium 7 times before. Never have I experienced such horrible service in the Metropolitan (on most lunches and some dinners) and even Blu (On some days). Did you of you experienced such horrible service on Celebrity Milllenium on this Transpacific crossing?

It almost want me to switch to a different cruise line.

    Let me know.
